Well I had a chance to make some test - and it looks it is Android dependent or maybe oldish / weak CPU As I dig out my old Moto G (first edition) Still running Android 5.1 
and same problem presented itself - So newest FLAC able version of app is just slow to download cache with android 5.1 and earlier and probably nothing can be done.
A bit shame as even quite new Android DAPs are based on 5.1 version ( apparently something to do with licencing)

Thank you for quick replay, well I was expecting something like "no" as an answer, and your explanation makes perfect sense 
I will have to come with something or just leave i5 over night to download offline blocks 

Thinking about it there is one more thing I wanted to ask
is there any significant difference in how newer androids work with RP app??
as i5 uses an old 4.4 maybe it would possible to use app created for  dated OS
unless I would loose an option for FLAC then there is no point.

I might get lucky and Cayin know about issue and decide to update firmware

Hi there, I have a bit of unusual question

Is it possible to load a SD card to a phone running RP app - download the couple of blocks for offline listening
and then pop this card into i5 and some how make RP app see those blocks ??? 

I am a long time RP app user and never had any problems with various version of RP app 
on any of  my phones ( Moto G, G3, G4, G5+) and since option of offline music was added I was big fan and use it almost everyday 

Now I have got myself this DAP Cayin i5 and it has option to install third party apps - So ofc my first app to install was RP  ;>
But there is a problem - presumably with implementation of third party apps access to Wifi on this player as
it takes ages to download cache blocks ( 6h of FLAC takes 2h+), Spotify has same issue so I am convinced it is a DAP probelem
( already contacted Cayin but them being Chinese company and i5 being their older model - I don't hold my hopes high) 

So my idea was to pop sd card to my Moto G4 and download 2-3 of 12h blocks on it and then pop it back to DAP 
but I cannot make i5 version of app to see those blocks downloaded using app on G4 

Alternatively is there a chance to download those blocks using PC ?? Even as a standard FLAC to be used with standard player??
