Radio Paradise

friends of mr. hedge, it says here.....i remember lots of people......it's been 20 years since gordy arranged for my audition.....i remember that laura shorted me on my first check....to make a point, she said.....i'd misspelled my name or something....i had a feeling then....anyway, it was luck that got me in and hard work that got me mine...people seemed to like it a lot....i wish i had had a better foundation....i might have greeted success with a more proper grace...as it was even local celebrity affected my behaviour adversely, as did the stress and strain of the scum who had bought and were ruining our beloved Pig.....a wrong marriage, too....mrs. hedge if you're out there please stay that way....i had to quit or die, simple as that....i am still not forgiven, i am still pissed off the way it all went down and too bad i never conversed with laura but that's the way it goes....having left many that i called and who called me friend in a state of wonder, never getting the chance to even say goodbye....now when i visit santa cruz i feel like a ghost.....since then it's been service work...i'd intended to put in 12 years service to compensate for my 12 years in radio....i got sick...didn't make it....now the best i can do for myself is part time attendant at a laundromat, living in humphrey, sleepy john's old camper....doing radio friday nights and saturday mornings at KMFB mendocino....some people say its the best radio show they've ever heard...i tell them thanks for listening.......i call myself bthomas....to remind myself to do just that, instead of forgetting myself....instead of turning myself into a fictional radio character like mr. hedge......i'll say this.....if you ever listened on KPIG and dug it, thank you.....that connection was the highlight of my life so far...if you are one who finds regret in your connection with me i am sorry for my part in that....i've carried a deep deep hurt with me since the day i quit KPIG....that's my business, i guess....here's wishing all of you all the best.....bthomas po box 1391 fort bragg, ca 95437 peace
