Did my taxes today, and apparently TurboTax has a sense of humor!
It's the "in other states" rule that is hard to enforce. I know if we go to Montana to buy something large, we take the route home that avoids the Port of Entry.
"While beautiful to see, waterfalls can pose risks to unprepared visitors. Slippery rocks, steep slopes, â90s nostalgia, & undercurrents can catch you by surprise when walking through or in the vicinity of a waterfall."
+1 Particularly like his take on US cities compared to the gleaming glass and mirror cities of authoritarian countries. Bang on.
What is also kind of funny about Tucker's eulogising on Russian supermarkets is that he is actually praising German technology here. The Metro Group (German retail chain) has invested heavily in Russia (and still does business there despite the sanctions. Those carts that stick to the escalator and don't roll on the incline? They are standard here.
Indeed. Very unfortunate that a voice like Tucker's, with so much reach, seems quite willing to compromise journalistic integrity to drive a curious narrative that Russia isn't as bad as its made out to be. Russia's neighbours know the truth. The North American audience needs to wake TF up and stiffen their collective backbone. Of course, here in Canada, we have the jellyfish spine known as Trudeau, and that probably won't change for at least another year.
I'm surprised no one in the media that I know of, has pointed out the parallel of Khrushchev visiting the US and being taken to a supermarket and being amazed at the amount and variety of groceries available for anyone to buy.
or deng
this stuff is practically lore here
when fresh peeps from poorer climes hit town, the local sponsors love to take them to a supermarket or walmart to see the reaction
my guess is that this is becoming more scarce since the living standards are generally increasing across the globe
poverty be damned...

I disagree with Fareed's takes far more often than I agree with them - when I actually bother to tune in. In this instance, he's 100% correct. Tucker's takes on life in Russia are utterly laughable - and missing so much context.
I dunno. It seems that TC is in favour of massive government spending on public works, which isn't restricted to authoritarian regimes - look at Singapore, as he cites. I could get behind that if they want to get the money out of taxes that hit the rich more than the poor.
