In the late 70s, joined Columbia House record club. This was one of my initial picks. Came with a peel off sticker listing the tracks that was positioned over the nude. 20 years later, my parents were still getting solicitations from Columbia House. Fifty years later, still have the album. Sticker is long gone.

Alpha Yaya Diallo was for me another accidental discovery.  A former girlfriend of mine worked as a promotions staff member for a music distribution company.  Digging through boxes of promo CDs I started grabbing discs and giving them a listen, Alpha was among those CDs and I've been enjoying his music ever since.  Oh. how things have changed though, now his music occupies a memory card in my car stereo or computer linked to a home sound system.

I love this guy and his family band, based in Vancouver and they are so fun, energetic and perfectly in tune. On a great day his daughters taught us how to dance. Mind you, that was a fair good time ago... The beauty moments stay with us forever.

Discovered Alpha Yaya Diallo via a CD buried in a box of promotional CDs that were given to me via an album called "The Message".  I consider this one of life's happy accidents.  For a self-taught guitarist the man is pretty amazing... those rhythms he plays are no joke.
