'Cause I just can't find the strength
To pull you up and keep you taut
No, I just can't find the strength
To haul you up and keep you taut

Hijacked
Lost track
Light fades
Another day lapsed
Long shadows lure you in

The more you look
The less you see
So close your eyes
And start to breathe
Oh, you said yourself,
"This wasn't easy"
Mm, you said yourself,

I would say that from reading the other comments that she probably recorded this song in her home "recording studio".  This song has a complicated rhythm and she may have used the ability of recording software to create a 'click track' to help keep time - sort of electronic metronome. Normally the click track would be disabled when the recording is finished but it would appear that the click track was intentionally left in to help reinforce the beat but you are right - whatever the reason it is too noticeable and distracting.

It's not a click track because it's not regular. It's meant to be part of the music.
I see Imogen Heap; I upvote. Her work on the soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was fantastic and shortly after seeing the show I listened to all her albums online. Amazing talent.

Read the Wiki about her. Quite accomplished. I do like her compositions too. Be assured the clicking was intentional. Listen close to other tracks on her other albums and you'll hear similar subtle electronic noise insertions throughout.

*thinks back to those days lonnnng long ago when the subtle clicking heard was due to the effects (affects?) of a small piece of paper set on my tongue*
This is what I sound like trying to shout to other people in dreams, this is.
Uriah would be proud :)

I'm not a fan of the beep-beep-beep.  It ads nothing to the music but annoyance.

Yawn.
Okay, I'm a bit long in the tooth and not exactly up to date on everything, but I never knew that Imogen was Frou Frou's vocalist. Damn.
Like this song but getting very tired of it...

Ouch.
Yes. Some post processing has made that click much louder than it is on the CD.

I need to further investigate Imogen. Every time I hear her on RP I stop and listen. Time to make a purchase.
She's just a genius of a songwriter and blessed with an angelic voice. Simply beautiful.

Agreed, an amazing performance.
Haven't thought of Ronnie Scott much since he died, but there was a time when I saw him, if not regularly, several times with his quartet in Gerrard Street - first saw him in Frith Street too. And that was half a century ago.
The opening bit sounds a lot like Michael Hedges.

Reminds me of Enya (without the accent), but less annoyingly slickly over-produced. This has quite a bit more organic texture to it.
I am grateful to RP for introducing me to so many artists/songs I never would have found on my own.  My iPod is filling up.   And that's a good thing.  {#Heartkiss}
She's releasing a new tune "Lifeline" tonight or tomorrow!
Amazing tune to follow PT's "Sentimental" with - nice flow Bill.  She is an awesome talent.

I'm hearing straight 3/4 too. Imogen mixes it up by coming in on the 2 occasionally. Really well laid out. I'm gradually falling in love with this woman's brain...
There are very few Imogen Heap songs that I don't like.....{#Dance}

Just saw Imogen last night in Vancouver; great show!
She is REALLY interesting. I'm gonna have to shell out for some of her stuff...
I like everything she's done and all her projects. I'm glad she's making music and having some success at it. With all the pop culture total shite we are expected to buy up like drones in a bad old 50's movie about zombies, Imogen Heap gives a fresh wind of authenticity to her music.
I have 2 of her CDs but I don't have this one. This song is very good, guess I better buy the CD.
Getting to like Imogen Heap a lot. Might have to invest in a CD.

I was surprised to see Immi as a guest on Beck's show but she showed her versatility and gave a good account of herself. She is best known as a solo artist so fitting in with a band like that is a testament to her musicianship.
