Dusty rays and shattered beams
Slippery roads and sunburned dreams
Winter's loss becomes summers gleam
Come wobbling out of the ocean

Come trickle back to den and roost
Come claw and tooth
And fish and goose
Come fin and tail
And paw and tooth
For life has a passion for living

Distant thoughts become cluttered mind
What is a drop in the ocean?
Far and few but long behind
We're spun by the heavenly motion

Ring the bell sound made crystalline
Ring out for the cause of all notions
April's dew becomes Autumn's wine
Leave everything always unbroken

WHY do you care what others think of the song?!?  Let alone let it ruin for you. Sad!

Rupert is a great thinker with some fascinating ideas.  Check out "7 experiments that could change the world".  I saw him speak a few years ago and it was most interesting!  I met him afterwards, and he seems to be a very nice person as well...

Me too. The fish are great :o)
Where is the merry-go-round? Got to be close by.
The song is decent, a 6.  The name, though, is a 12.  Marvel called to make an offer for the next superhero's moniker.  Indeed, Marvel, Cosmo the artist and Cosmo the MCU character could write the music score.

Yeah I've had two Cosmos today, not that I'm complaining mind

If you like this, check out this tune too! It's got a Heffalump in it!!!

As much as I enjoy RP, the playlist is almost to the point... I know about what time it is, by what's playing.

I could go for a glass or four of mead right now.

OK. After a few more listens, I rated it a 7!

I love that in 2023 people are still making songs like this. if you like this try some John Grant.

Sounds a bit like Alt-J.
a caliope? is that what this makes me think of?
Oompa loompas anyone?
Some Kurt Weill in this song

Also, it's "you're", not your.
The album cover art reminds me of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. The music reminds me of the movie even more.

Very Tim Burton-y! :D

Yeah, me too, and the album cover.  ; )
I feel some Amy Winehouse here.  A bit; and that makes me want to hear her music.

Wonderful, reminiscent of Tim Buckley's supporting music. It's good to listen to another creative soul fill the aural experience.

I find this most interesting, Captain. It's highly illogical, but while listening to this, I feel I'm on a ship at sea...

Hear Hear
Most Excellent, shades of Divine Comedy.

Wow.

This song opens up like Mikes Davis, Nature Boy.  You can hear that baritone sax.
Sounds like Morphic Resonance!
Solid 7. Might go up. I really like the woodwinds.
album well worth a purchase and listen, it's a good grower
Terrific lyrics with real meaning. Great piece. Thank you for turning us on….
Something different and still nice to hear ^^
I love everything about this, the instruments, the harmonies, the lyrics, his voice...
Delightful!

Thought it was a Talk Talk album cover at first glance
man I love this, charlie and the chocolate factory keeps coming in my head. Cosmo Rocks
Unique, quirky and awesome! A 9 from me.
that track reminds me of a track from the movie "Kundun"
"...plods along with grim, dull determination..."

Don't forget 'Topper'!
Wooh! Great fishies! Reminds me of the cult screensaver (look it up, kids) After Dark. Good song, too.
Digging this sound.
Breaking Hearts -> Caught A Long Wind -> Apple Pie Bed -> Linger Longer

Is the theme "breaking wind in bed"?

Cosmo and Merlin may take over the world.  Remember you heard that here.
digging this "baroque pop" "folktronica" (as per Wikipedia article genre classification)

once again I thank whomever comes up with these musical genre titles, as they frequently give me a chuckle.
Sounds like a movie soundtrack.

Cosmo the Spacedog is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Laika was a Soviet space dog who became one of the first animals in space, and the first animal to orbit the Earth.

Cover art reminds of The Scroobious Pip.
Great fit with the Koop tune "Glomd" Bill played just before it.

Well other than the horrifying picture that just came to bed, this is where my mind went. At least before the vocals got going.

I'd also be looking in Kevin Ayer's direction...
Im a complete Sheldrake convert after watching the effort e puts in to his work over on his youtube channel.
Shades of 'Woodkid' in this sound (not a bad thing).

Cosmo Sheldrake
is a London-based multi-instrumentalist musician, composer and
producer. He is the son of parapsychologist Rupert Sheldrake and voice
teacher Jill Purce.

Wow, and he looks as cool as he sounds.
I quite like this.  The plodding nature and halting dirge like quality to the lyrics/melody are interesting.  I'm not sure that a whole album with this style would be great, but as a stand alone song, its nice.
This. Is. Awesome.
Beautiful album cover

This is very nice, thank you. Carnivalesque sounds and rhythm. Who wants a wee bit longer ride on the merry go-round?
If you've figured what the brass ring was, good luck getting it. :-)
Another band that I thoroughly enjoy musically, with intriguing quirky lyrics, and a vocalist that drops the experience a notch.
Dedicated to all the DNA and RNA in the audience.

I thank you and good night.
Yep, I like this a lot. Thanks RP!
I thought it was some Doors deep cut I hadn't heard which would have been entirely possible because I don't like the Doors. 4
i like this guy's lyrics.
There’s a lot of Bolero in that intro. I’d kind of prefer that.
This is "The Nightmare before Feather, Fur, and Finmas."
Sounds like he listens to a lot of Danny Elfman soundtracks. I like it!
