Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

I see you from my window
In the shadows of the night
You're standing on Love Street
On the beat of better things

I'll see you standing there
You don't care anymore
And love in your life
Stabbing knife in my heart

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

I'll see you standing there
You don't care anymore
And love in your life
Stabbing knife in my heart

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away

that entire rembrandts album is fucking awesome

Truly great - stop what the hell you're doing and just listen - track!
Bodeans really are a great band. So little known; a real shame.
I will never not love this song to death. It’s almost a hymn for me. At the time traveling as a comic; miles of empty road. And THIS filled many of them!!

repetition is big in a lot of music.  If you're into the song, it can become a kind of trance, part of liberation from the tyranny of the conscious mind, to likely misquote someone's saying about the value of music.
Leo Kottke will sometimes get stuck on a particular musical phrase for several minutes because it's so nice to play.

I remember having to double the total since the pumps couldn't read more than 99¢/gallon.
That and $9.99 would fill up my 79 Datsun B210.
Whoa, 4 live cuts in a row and I'm in the front row!!!

I do recall when I had to try hard to fit $5.00 of gas in the tank. (it helped that it was an Austin Mini)
Beautiful. Great band. Haters, shut up.

I remember when $5.00 would full up my '64 Ford Falcon Futura as I drove around south Atlanta in '70 - '72.

As I was trying to say on the previous Petty live cut......it's the old cliché "you had to be there".
I understand some here saying "they ruin that song live".  To me, it's hard to listen to a live version or any song by any artist.
There's just nothing like being there to get why a version of any song by any artist is amazing.
Be that as it may (and I did get to see Petty live thankfully) listening to a 'live' song on a radio irritates me.    You can almost feel the excitement.  You can almost see their connection to the audience.  The key word is almost.  Instead I'm just irritated I'm not there because the song blows on the radio....and I come away thinking they ruined it.
I know that's not true, just how I feel....
All that said, these are all excellent songs and I WISH I WERE THERE TO HEAR THESE LIVE VERSIONS....
Love this track

I got to see them a few times in college when they were first starting out. Mostly backyards of fraternities, festivals, something like that. I just realized that I may never have seen them indoors.

Either way - I adore them, always have, always will.
It is uncanny.

This time I paid attention to introduction of this song and was astounded at how similar it sounded to one of the songs on Porcupine Tree's Signify album which was released in 1996, one year after this BoDeans album was released.

One band influencing the other or both bands drinking from the same well of inspiration?  No idea.

The rest of this song sounds nothing like Porcupine Tree (or vice versa).

How entertaining song "godlike"... we are retired more than twice, and still stabbers around! unbelievable...

Perhaps one reason these two flow so well is the sharing key of C?

The BoDeans were there in my twenty-something years. In between drunkeness and sobriety. I remember the BoDeans and that girl...
{#Dance}A toe tapper to be sure.
7:37 am - Buddy Holly, "Not Fade Away"
7:39 am - BoDeans, "Fadeaway"

I see what you did there.
Second that. Just kept repeating the first segment over and over.

Beautiful intro, too, to an unmistakable song.  I love their guitar work.

I've tired of it pretty quickly, though.
Beautiful riff.

Timeless.
Got old already.
How do I not know the BoDeans?  Gotta look them up!
This following Buddy Holly's Not Fade Away? I see what you did there... :)

LoveLoveLove Bodeans! Never gets old :)

This whole collection oozes with Kurt Neumann's chiming guitar, the intro to this song a prime example. I saw BoDeans this summer. Sammy Llanas had long left the band, substituted for with a workman like but hardly equal sideman. What was also missing was Neumann's ringing, chiming guitar and all the electric subtlety it summoned. "Fadeaway" had been transformed from a haunting dirge into an anthem of sorts. It was okay, but left only a shadow of this once remarkable band.
So upload some of your favourites for us.
is this the only one you play by them? sheesh...
Loved these guys live. Tested roads warriors.

I'm afraid I must vehemently disagree with you stingray .How in Gods name can you say that this version is lame. This Live Album I have listened to intently in my car and I cannot find one error on all the tracks on this double album, I was quite suprised as surely there must be something there, but no and in my opinion far out shines the studio version. Proffesssionalism from start to finish and obviously well rehearsed.

My observation as well... just dug the Album out to play as I drive around today.. I can give it some ''welly'' volume in the the Bimmer.. :-)
..quite amazing, esp given it's live..
I've had nights where I lay awake with insomnia - literally can't get to sleep - and this song will drift in and out of my head with a Cheshire Cat-like persistence. Other times I've been sick with some ailment and in my feverish half-sleep this song will drown out all other sounds or thoughts. If I had a time machine, and believe me this is in no way hyperbolic, if I had a time machine the first thing I'd do is go back in time and find a way to keep the BoDeans from ever forming as a band.

But you're thinking, "Wouldn't you go back in time and stop Hitler or Pol Pot or someone like that?" No I wouldn't, because I'd have a time machine silly. I could go back in time AFTER stopping the BoDeans from forming.

That's right, I've thought this through.
Love the BoDeans.
Good tune

Yes I'm sure it would be far better if the harmonies didn't harmonize.

This song is good the first time you hear it or for the first few seconds...
after that it gets redundant very fast.
{#Fever}
awful song. please FADE AWAY! the sooner the better !!!
I was excited about seeing these guys next month (for the 3rd time) but then I read they broke up and there is only one remaining original member (Kurt Neumann).

"On August 18th, Llanas officially left the band due to "differences of opinion" that had been "going on for years", according to Neumann. His departure was also related to his rekindled solo career, with a new solo album titled 4 A.M. having been announced one day after Indigo Dreams was released. The band stated that they will continue on without him with the addition of new member Jake Owen."

Too bad........they had a good run!
