One for every time I've gone away
One for every time I should have stayed
You should have wore my wedding ring
I got sixteen days
Fifteen of those are nights
Can't sleep when the bed sheet fights
It's way back to your side
Well the ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
The ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
Away from you, away from you, away
Well the ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
Well the ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
Away from you, away from you, away
I got sixteen days
Got a bible and a rosary
God, I wish that you were close to me
Guess I owe you an apology
I got sixteen days
Fifteen of those are nights
Can't sleep when the bed sheet fights
It's way back to your side
Well the ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
Well the ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
Away from you, away from you, away
Well the ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
The ghost has got me running (ghost has got me running)
Away from you, away from you, away
Old tin cups, little paper dolls
All wrapped up, in ribbons, bows, and hearts
Old tin cups, and little paper dolls
All wrapped up, in the ribbons of your heart
I got sixteen days
Sixteen days
I got sixteen days
It's like before I hang
is that it doesn't sound like the other kind of country music—too commercial and gimmicky
Dismissive and disrespectful as usual.
ALSO: Don't gooooooooooooooo falling off that "privi-ledge" of yours. Privilege.
well put Zander, thank you
I realize and believe in the concept of free speech, and realize that people have the "priviledge" of giving an opinion no matter how derogatory, but I just thought I'd put it out there. The beauty of free speech is that I have it too. ;)
Wow, thank you sooooooooooooo much for your agreement with the concept of my "priviledge" to express my opinion. You are truly enlightened.

Agreed. Lots of talent in that band.

I couldn't agree more.
My favorite kind of music.
Miss you.
........ yes please
For sure!
"My nose has stopped its runnin'"?
Early Ryan Adams? Sounds good to me!
Yep, I'll second that. This is too close to maudlin C and/or W for these ears. Insta-mute and back in 5.
I've always wondered the same thing - perhaps a closer look at the lyrics would help, but I've never been quite that ambitious despite how easy that sort of thing is these days. At one point he sings 'Got 16 days and 15 of those are nights' which, if I was more observant would probably mean something....
But I love this song. I like RA better with Whiskeytown, personally, than solo, though I do like some of his solo songs a lot. Just haven't ever found any of his solo albums as consistently solid as either "Faithless Street" of "Stranger's Almanac".
Okay, I can't vouch for the accuracy of these lyrics, but here's the gist:
16 Days

Couldn't agree more...you nailed it.

Me three. It's the song that made me fall for Whiskeytown.

icon, especially when used as the entire comment. What does that mean, exactly? As you pointed out, that kind of comment creates defensiveness and ill will in those that do like the song, artist or genre being barfed on. I think RP would be a better place if that emoticon were removed.
In the meantime, I would like to add my plea to yours that forum users avoid offensive or dismissive comments. Dislike a song, but there's no need to be angry or mean about it.
