Mother Earth lives on the ocean
Mother Earth sails on the sea
I am blessed with her devotion
Mother Earth provides for me
Now I am going on a journey
And I pray all things end well
While Mother Earth looks after me
I will follow faithfully
Green trees grow on mountain top
Birds still sing while morning come
Though I treat her carelessly
Mother Earth provides for me
When the grasslands crave for water
And the harvest needs sunlight
These are times when I am helpless
Mother Earth makes all things right
Mother Earth lives on the ocean
Mother Earth sails on the sea
I am blessed with her devotion
Mother Earth provides for me
Mother Earth sails on the sea
I am blessed with her devotion
Mother Earth provides for me
Now I am going on a journey
And I pray all things end well
While Mother Earth looks after me
I will follow faithfully
Green trees grow on mountain top
Birds still sing while morning come
Though I treat her carelessly
Mother Earth provides for me
When the grasslands crave for water
And the harvest needs sunlight
These are times when I am helpless
Mother Earth makes all things right
Mother Earth lives on the ocean
Mother Earth sails on the sea
I am blessed with her devotion
Mother Earth provides for me

I was in LOVE with
Tom Rush when I was 12 years old!
I'm 61 now and am still in Love with him.
Great Talent! I got to meet him at a concert and he is a very nice person.

Being my first exposure to Tom Rush, this tune brought up a swirl of Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor, and Paul Simon. Not bad company, and not a bad song. I could stand to hear some more.
Call me Mr. Derivative....
Sounds a little like a dead cover to me.
Always great to hear Tom. Bill, please add a passel of songs from this album to your playlist like No Regrets, Lost My Drivin' Wheel, Urge for Going, and Panama Limited. Peace

Galveston Flood is incredible, but unfortunately he doesn't seem to perform it any more. He's quite entertaining in person. I saw him at the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis, MD, last year. Picked up a CD of "Trolling for Owls" and enjoyed a great show.
thought it was a cover of smells like teen spirit when i heard the intro..
Sounds a little like Kermit's nephew Robin to me.
I love Tom Rush! Check out No Regrets: Best of. There are some truly wonderful songs on there -- often more dark and gravel-y than he sounds in this song.
Great tune! Great discovery!
