Watch it fly away, like a sparrow
Like a sparrow
It flutters through the canyons our fathers engineered
with nowhere else to go
but through the walls
with nowhere else to go
but through
through the narrows
the lined monuments
the garrisons of avenues to clouds
Tonight, I'm sleeping on the fire escape
Tonight, I'm keeping all the stars awake
Tonight, I'm sleeping on the fire escape
Tonight, I'm keeping all the stars
Watch it fly away, like a sparrow
Like a sparrow
It shivers on the screen, just a luminescent square
with nowhere left to go
but through the rain
with nowhere left to go
but through
through the city
a never-ending
devouring of the sky by iron shrouds
Tonight, I'm sleeping on the fire escape
Tonight, I'm keeping all the stars awake
Tonight, I'm sleeping on the fire escape
Tonight, I'm keeping all the stars awake
Tonight, I'm sleeping on the fire escape
Tonight, I'm keeping all the stars
Watch it fly away, like a sparrow
Like a sparrow

Kinda wussy but the outro is interesting. Gang singing just sounds lame.
Love the groove, the harnonics, the building energy. Like the actual flight of a small bird towards the sunrise of a beautifull day. Double rainbow for me. Maybe even triple .
Only on RP can you listen to a song and learn about birds at the same time...

Usually found in the comments!

Hm. Yep.

Sounds like humans... Hm... Yep.
The ending of this song, with the "allegro vivace" string section, always feels like the intro to another track. I'll have to check out the album someday.
Poppy, hook-filled - and very well crafted and delivered. Definitely worth a "Quite Likeable" 7.

Me too! I never heard of them before. Thanx RP!
I completely love Cathedrals, but this is far more pop-y...and a lot less interesting...

Sparrow describes multiple families of birds, it isn't a species by itself. House Sparrow is the invasive species that you are referring to. It is an old world species imported from Europe. There are many native new world sparrows that aren't closely related to the old world sparrows.

Lovely outro.
The only part worth listening to.

Nothing special.

comments are far more fun than this cut, highly entertaining
Lovely outro.
Viva la Winston-Salem!
Gets a 7 just for the last minute or so.

Wow too much hate. I kind of like this.

I can't stand this song! He's sleeping on the fire escape and keeping all the stars awake, how? Farting in his sleep?  what a bunch of wishy washy tripe.

nowhere close to the originality of their earlier stuff
Awful. They should have begun with the ending and stayed there.  that would have been something notable.
Released in 2018? I was hoping this Americana/harmonizing music was going out of style.

So glad to learn of them.  Is it redundant to say "thank you RP?"

Quite possibly my favorite band to see live. So glad they reunited and are coming out with new music again.
The buzzing noise in the end made me check my pc-fans. And gave me a headache

The rather curious ending made me move from 6 to 7
Small reincarnation of Jonathan (the seagull)
2nd comment for this tune?   Hmmmm
Only 32 ratings thus far.    Solid 6 for me as well.
Not bad. A solid six.
