Remember the Great Muffin Fad from a while ago? By the Y2K, people were saying "they're just cupcakes!" So along came the cupcake fad and next thing you know, they're making them *healthy*  That would be a muffin.

Well if you like cupcakes you better go get one quick because I think Los Angeles is a pretty much bigger metro and it just did a faceplant ;-)

It works in a bigger metro, like here.  Checking online, it seems we have at least four indie cupcake outlets.  Still a niche market IMO, and a risky one at that.

Exactly. And when the fad's over, SBux can eliminate cupcakes and no one will notice.

Trendy trends eventually trend downward.

Seems to be a risky business at any rate - fickle consumer, economic downturn risk, evil retail landlords, ever-rising costs.  Etc.

I shipped a spare DVD player to a friend in Australia, a few years back, and that's what it looked like when it got there. Not just the box, but the DVD player too.

Yes, couldn't it say something like "This is a throwable box" or something like that?

How did I not know about this until tonight, when a friend of mine is selling her tickets to the local show on Saturday?

As many fans of that film that reside here—-was it talked about, ever? I must've been absent that day.
