I have an iPod and I plug it into one of those Bose wave-speaker dealies. I like it.  

Good choice kurt, seems like you did a bit of homework before buying.  I know via the interwebs a few guys that have that model and well received.

A Hsu would be my first choice in my dream rig.

I just had to replace my 20 yo Pioneer receiver due to age and lightning.

Having very limited funds, I turned to my favorite outlet, Crutchfield.  Granted, they don't carry much in the way of audiophile material, but they now have a 60 day tryout no questions asked period for equipment.

Ended up with an Onkyo TX-NR609 AV receiver for a very reasonable price.  Its THX certified so the specs are a hair better than their non THX rigs.   I'm going to keep it.  Has USB for direct connection to a puter and Internet streaming playback via ethernet connection.  Its overkill for listening in 3.1 but as long as it doesn't fizzle out anytime soon I will be happy.

JL has a nice sub series out...sounded very impressive. But, I was advised against a purchase as the sub models are not very reliable. I also would recommend getting an outboard DAC for your sooundbridge...can really enhance the sound of streaming audio like RP. Check out audiogon.com for a nice used audio market.

I bought the sub blind but at that time there just wasn't a comparable product for the price.

If I had to buy a sub right now I would seriously consider Hsu.  I'd take a drive over to SVS to audition their newer models but Hsu would be in the running.

My ears are so far gone I'm guessing it doesn't take much to impress me anymore.

Still, the old Sansui sounds terrific; bass flat, treble boosted slightly for my aforementioned crappy ears. 

RP sounding pretty good right now through my 1970 vintage Sony STR-7055 Receiver into my homemade speakers...Unfortunately RP doesn't yet have a high enough quality stream to sound great through my Electrostats yet.
