So I'm not about to say this guy is my favorite singer because I don't even know who he is, but he's the singer for Deer Tick, a band I just started to investigate (d/l a few freebies from various websites, etc) when DHG sent her Mixtape and this is the song I keep skipping ahead to hear. You can't really hear the, um, character his voice has in the studio recording, but if you know who Wreckless Eric is, you have a really good idea.

Yeah, it was the boy back in my days of hanging with the girl, cocaine, in New York...I have my doubts that the song My Girl has anything to do with a lady...

I agree, a wonderful and under-rated singer, though his was not the first voice I thought of.  Personally, I've always felt that Nat "King" Cole had the most beautiful voice of any recording artist.  I know; it seems corny, but I still get goosebumps when I hear "Nature Boy" or "Mona Lisa" by him.
