I enjoy hearing my own voice. It's decent. I can carry a note, within a certain, adequate range. And when I sing I'm pretty effing happy.Whatever it is.

Exactly. Apparently it was really after listening to Dylan (!!) ... that he was encouraged to start singing.
OK, perhaps he didn't have a "great" voice but for me there was always this mischievous quality in his voice that added so much to the excitement of his material!

40 years on, I think that Jimi's music STILL sounds so fresh, so radical & so exciting.
Will there ever be a greater guitar virtuosi than Jimi?????

Jimi Hendrix isn't mentioned too often in relation to his singing (he didn't think much of it himself) but I think it was perfect for what he did.
