I’d agree. Original recipe. Tried extra crispy, disappointing. corn is ok. How do you mess up corn? i do like the biscuits but only if hot and fresh. potato wedges...I always think I’d like them, but after one or two, nope.
damn, this reminded me of long John silvers. as a kid, loved that grease pit. tried it again as an adult, and they don’t give you much of the crumblies like they used to, fish and chicken tasted good. But in an hour I got violently ill. Neber again.
Oh yeah, and hush puppies. That is the place I learned to love malt vinegar. Haven't eaten there in at least 25 years, and probably won't, just to preserve the fond memories.
KFC is a freak show. Several of my employees used to love the place. they would get the thing that was cheese and bacon crammed between two pieces of fried chicken < shudder >.
They have only ever been good at one thing: Original Recipe chicken. Their extra crispy, their other meat-like things are not good. The potatoes are an acquired taste. Cole slaw is sugary, the honey for the biscuits is actually corn syrup "honey sauce." But I'd eat the original recipe once in a while if there was still a place to get it here. Oh and the chickens are tiny. Like the smallest chicken they can find that's not actually an egg.

Is American KFC as bad as it is here? I keep thinking I don't remember it being so bad; it can't really be as bad as the last time I got some.
But it is.

I've told this story before so I'll keep it short but in college I named a kitten "Quack" just so I could tell one roommate, "I haven't seen the cat, would you go outside & call for him?"
It worked, BTW.
I love that so much.
i had one named Dave but my downstairs neighbor didn’t know. She looked at me funny after she heard me yelling for Dave to stop digging in the plants.
Back when I was in grade school my grandfather had a pet squirrel that he named Bunny. As an eight year old it seemed like a strange name for a squirrel to me, but somehow keeping a squirrel as a pet didn't seem at all odd.

I’m going to name my next pet (cat) chicken. Or bunny.
