Okay I'm going to come right out here and point out an elephant in the room that will probably offend some people. So what.

Romney's percentages in the Western states look more like Soviet election percentages than anything else. And I think we all know why that is.

It appears that certain individuals are voting for this guy solely because he has the same religion as they do and are expecting special favors in return. It can't be because of any substantive stance on any issues, because let's face it — Romney has no substantive stances.

We'll of course see a repeat of this in the general election too. And it stinks, because I hate to see people be so cynical about the political process that they vote for someone solely based on what their personal religious beliefs are. There's people dying in Afghanistan and a huge debt crisis, America deserves better than people blindly voting based on one personality trait of a candidate.

Oddly, I suspect if it were Ron Paul raking in the big votes you'd take it as popular acceptance of his ideas - not people liking him because they're too dumb or short-sighted to see why they shouldnt.

Just because you don't understand or agree with a choice doesn't make it a poor choice.

Yes, it might be standard Republican thought/arguments on the stimulus package, a thought/argument shared by many independent leaning economists, but one thing worth noting: when Salt Lake City was playing host to the 2000 Winter Games, they faced serious budgetary shortfalls. Of all the individuals in this country with a sharp business acumen, who did the USOC and Salt Lake Officials turn to for help? Mitt Romney. Mr. Romney took the structure in place, pulled it apart, studied it, reconfigured it and those games went from crimson ink to black.
Mitt Romney, like him, detest him, show indifference to him, has a proven track record in the world of business and finance. His thoughts on the stimulus might not be right. But they might not be wrong, either.

From The Gawker. Come to think of it, what the heck is the deal with all the national political figures who are facsimiles for 30 Rock stars? First Tina Fey and Sarah Palin, now McBrayer and Jindal. If Mitt Romney were to modulate his voice with the occasional cigarette (and Mormon blasphemy), Alec Baldwin could get in on the action, too
