I'm intrigued by the back porch roof runoff into the stub wall/flower bed. Is that water collected somewhere? Like a French drain, etc...
We live in a place where there not much run off/ rain.
BUT... we've had some pretty good  thunderstorms in the past. Mostly from dying hurricanes coming up from Baja. The mountain, a block away from us, will flow waterfalls in those bigger downpours. Winter storms are a soaking rain.
The water has filled up the original grass area and little strip in the back about 4" on a couple of occasions. And got to the back slider. Those are the 3" a hour rains... that last an hour.
That little strip off the patio is now about 6" lower than before. So it can contain way more water than before.
Everything is set up for drainage toward the grassy area.  And it soaks into the ground real quick when it stops raining. Under the rock there's a membrane that let's water in and keeps the weeds out. Those rocks are about 3"- 4" deep.

Probably the birds.
No more pets for us.
I dislike them dying before us.

I finally finished my son's wind vane for his windmill. I clear coated it with an automotive urethane. I should last for quite awhile.
It's been in my garage for almost 2 months...

He needs to order some parts for the windmill. Then rent a lift  so we can get up there without dying and reassemble it.

Nice job!

Well, not today. We started late Friday and finished yesterday.
To busy to post yesterday.
Debbie and I moved 6.75 tons of rock from our front drive way to our almost finished, remodeled backyard.
Almost 50 wheelbarrows full...

Debbie was a great help.
Of course, she's been driven to get this project completed since we started last August. She was resorting to using psychology on the paver order. And me many times. Both myself and the paver order ignored her.

It took 2 months to get our pavers.
And she's been driven me to nuts.

She'll be sore for a few days for sure.
It's possible we might be getting too old for being human forklifts.

I'll post a picture/s of the completed backyard when it's finished.

Nice!
Our weather turned for the better.
Unfortunately, the snowbirds have been arriving in droves.
It's Mercedes, Tesla, Lamborghini, Porsche, Maserati... any other car over $150,000,  flooding the streets with people who are too scared to drive them.

Terrible thing to hear. And, yes, as long as health care is for profit and fee-for-service then you can expect more of the same: rising costs with less service. In the US we have the highest costs - and poor outcomes. That's not supposed to happen.

Right now, my mom's been there in ICU care and subsequent rehab. I can visit her daily. With the new scenario raised by local politics, I'd have to visit her via public transportation, i.e. one visit meaning a half-day travel back and forth.

This is going on in my country which once used to care for their citizens... currently only having shareholder-values in mind anymore. Local hospitals closing down by numbers, nationwide. Underpaid staff resulting in undercare, and medical-care crisis everywhere.

When I was in hospital myself this year, the night-nurse was using an electric scooter to service three different hospital stations at once.

No will to change the situation in sight, politically. Privatization of health-care continues...

F..k capitalism!
