my lungs are probably coated with cutting oil after 20 years of standing in front of smoking machine tools. And not to mention all the aluminum dust I inhaled also, too as well.
We're you in tool and die?
Just a regular machinist with a swithins of tool making. I hand machined special tooling to hold multiple parts on the big CNC mill. Then I just ran CNC machines like a roboticus while I was putting myself through graphic design college. I took 16 units and worked 12 hour tours on the weekends. Then my kid came to stay with me and immediately ran away from home so when I wasn't at school or work I was out all night cycling around looking for him - long days. Got real sick with hep c right at graduation. was barely able to walk to the university for all the graduation ceremonies. Then I had an alcohol relapse which lasted about 5 years and I haven't drank since then and that must have been almost 25 years ago. but things just got worse month by month . until I find myself here now - like one of those big old curled up chips all color changed and crispy from the heat ready to be swept up and tossed into the bin with the other chips. And that kid who ran away messages me periodically begging me to kill myself. the best thing that's ever happened to me in my life was probably eating a hostess snowball - the pink kind with the cake and marshmallow.
I ate some ghost pepper jelly one time just to see how much I could take before I needed milk with honey...

Was in a tool and die shop for a couple of years. There's a lot going on in there. I just didn't have the focus at 23 yo. Too wild...
I would go in after staying up all night with a panic attack and get so dizzy I thought I was going to fall right into the dgol dang machine. My panic attacks were so bad that i kept a big bag fill of bandages to wrap up my legs because they would just start kick and lashing around and shaking like a crazy man. what do you call those brown stretchy bandages? I forget, but I had about 50 feet of them to mummy up with. I hated the machine shops. I loved the oil fields tho.
