The scene in 127 Hours when he's remembering how his dad would take him out to the desert when he was little to watch the sunrise. For some reason, that just GOT to me....

And so does that boy ;)
Available on netflix on demand. Good Sunday night wind-down movie. I had never heard of it but was looking for something light last night. It is light but with substance. The central question is an interesting one that I think all of us struggle with - what is true love, is there only one, would we give up our mistakes to get our happily ever after. One of the characters says something about life being in the detours and I think there is a lot of truth to that.

At that part near the end where the bad thing happens to that guy? I always get all sad. Not that I identify with him or anything.
That movie gets me each and every time (I saw it five times in the theater). Particularly this bit of dialogue: You think she'll hold together? She's torn up plenty, but she'll fly true.
Of course it is directly related to the scene you describe when that thing happens to that guy.
