Oh, man. plumbing issues on a holiday are no fun. Thursday night, I fell in our bathroom, and managed to cause the toilet tank to explode into a few dozen pieces. The soonest the plumber can install a new one is Monday. Luckily we have two bathrooms in this house. Other than a cut finger, I escaped serious injury. I'm not even sore.
Yeah, I'm so old I can't remember how to do shit here any more. Went right past CRS to CRAFT (can't remember a , er, thing). Here's another X link from FarmAid 1986, Dave and his mullet on the strat. Looks like the same one he still plays.
Of course DJ Bonebrake whales on the kit pretty well in the original.*
I know Dave wrote it but X released it first, right? and wasn't Dave in X for this album? (edit: No, that's Tony Gilkyson). I'm chagrined to not remember the details anymore. Fuggit I'm old. Get off my lawn. At least don't drive on the sprinklers.

Newer Dave 4th O' July. Lisa Pankratz rocks the bejeezus out of the drums.

Speaking of Dave Alvin , he is performing at our Waterfront Blues Festival today - I made the decision late last night to NOT go this year. It's just too blazing hot and there is very little shade down there. Not to mention wading through the throngs of people to either get water or fill up your water bottle at the limited spigots everywhere.
Gettin' too old for that stuff. If it were 10 degrees cooler, maybe....
We have been thinking of going there in August after T goes home to France, but we are also considering San Francisco. It's been a while since the two of us have had a vacation alone.
both locations can be fun
great food in both too
august will be hot in nawlins
sf not as much
if you had time a drive to NO might not be so bad (a stop over in memphis maybe catch elvis week at graceland)
