If so, it's only on the origin, and maybe what it means to him and whatever block sign on to it. I can see where there is some element of the mixing of the anti-president and anti-media sentiment that I hadn't picked up. But it's really just a unifying meme that the 'in group' thinks is clever. I think you are giving far too much credit to how much thought went into the symbolism. It's a viral meme, Much like Cheetolini and the others that preceded it on the other side.
I'm not the elitist that K thinks I am regardless of which sports I follow (you follow GP racing, where does that put you on the might be an elitist scale?). I do think this particular meme is interesting in that it tries to make nice the sentiment of 'fuck Joe Biden', when there hasn't been much pulling of rhetoric anywhere else - and I'm sure it wasn't done for pleasantness. But hey, I don't have a dog in this hunt. I'm surely against most of the Trump Doctorine, but not really a fan of the Democrat platform or process so far either. It all just looks like another step in the march to the end to me. So I'll not be rooting for either team to go farther down this road.
You don't think it's clever because it comes from the NASCAR right, kinda like people who regularly read the NYT don't detect a leftish bias in it. Eh. And just because it's an accidental gift from the media doesn't mean picking up on it shows no thought. Without its origin it would make no sense at all. It's not so much a witty retort as a gaffe flung back, like (as NPR pointed out this morning} people attaching covfefe to everything Trump.
As for my elite status...MotoGP ranks closer to corn dog than Grey Poupon in Yurp, where it's actually popular. It's sort of the NASCAR of Yurp. In the states it's pretty esoteric, like being a fan of show jumping or AKC agility, but I'd put it between F1 and sailboat racing elitism-wise. On the Budmilob-wine snob scale I'd rate it about brewpub.
First off, any direct contact islander has with me is only to troll me. He has no interest in any discussion with me. He just does it to browbeat me. There is no honorable intent present, ever. Period, end of story.
What you call browbeat is what I call setting the record straight. I respond to your nonsense when I feel it needs correcting. Feel free to keep posting it though, but if it's nonsense I'm sure I'm not the only one that will call you out on it.
Ironic that probably the most anti-postmodern poster on these pages has such an astute analysis of the hermaneutics of the phrase.

So on to the code thing and now you double down and go dog whistle on me to boot. Dig your hole deeper. I find the need for your definition of what code means to you because you say mine is incorrect.
And now dog whistle ? Do you even know what it means ? How do you define dog whistle ?
In politics, a dog whistle is the use of coded or suggestive language in political messaging to garner support from a particular group without provoking opposition.
I was being trolled. I knew the answer before I asked my question. And by asking for a reference for the notion of why he thought it was a "code" is totally legitimate. It is not a code for anything. The meaning is not secret nor hidden. Never was.
Nor does ignorance of the expression make it a code. On the other hand, declaring it a code displays the ignorance of the accuser.
Well that's some revisionist history, right there and I don't need to backscroll far. Nothing in Islander's orignial statement was trolling. Using one statement to mean something else that isn't really what the statement superficially indicates is about the definition of code. Or maybe you prefer dog whistle?

I do not agree with many of Biden's policies but I do regard him as an honourable man of integrity. Somebody who is more than worthy of being the President of the USA.
It is a little surprising that so many Americans — ~45% — view a complete of lack of integrity as an important qualification for the top job in the nation. The times are a changin'.

I guess the suggestion is that the rhetoric has been elevated. A finely honed chant to replace the more pedestrian âBuild that wall!,â âCNN sucks,â and, of course, âlock her/him up.â
.
Heady stuff! Satire at its finest!
.
Without a platform (and only a cult leader), all you're left with is Democrat Derangement Syndrome.

You really are clueless or so flipping out of touch and assume everything is rooted in codes or secret conspiracy theories.
You are really clueless and out of touch if you jump on using a phrase without understanding where it came from and what it has come to mean.
But I don't think that is really the case. By asking, "What code?" you are trolling, plain and simple. Because you then go on and explain the nuances of what it is code for.
