not an economist. But strange that it worked so well then. Inflation is down, employment is up, economy is ticking over well, ergo, inland revenue must be reaping the rewards.
edit: now comes the time to reduce the deficit.
The waiting for Godot part only refers to the upper half, the bottom half have been in a recession for at least year now. Prices for essentials are squeezing budgets.
Inflation shock? yes...but as much as they disagree, I dont think you would find many economists who argue for more spending to stop inflation.
the coming recession has been like waiting for Godot.

well, isn't that what we (just about) had? Inflation shock. Massive hike in energy prices etc.

Meidas Touch obviously has a pro-Democrat, anti-Trump bias and explicit agenda. However, the tweet I've included below touches on evidence related to Burisma and the Bidens.
Just in case the tweet fails to load or if people are unwilling to click on the link embedded in the tweet, here is the full text of the Meidas Touch tweet:
The GOP's latest conspiracy theories against Hunter Biden just completely fell apart â again.
Today, Rep. Jamie Raskin sent a letter to James Comer sharing the transcript of statements made by Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, to an associate of Rudy Giulianiâs directly contradicting allegations repeated in the FBI Form FD-1023 tipsheet, which the FBI made available to all Committee Members.
Republican Committee Members identified Mr. Zlochevsky as the source of the information relayed to the FBI by a confidential human source (CHS) in the Form FD-1023. As part of the 2019 impeachment inquiry against then-President Trump, the Committee received a transcript created by associates of Mr. Giuliani recording statements by Mr. Zlochevsky that squarely rebut these allegations.
âDespite being interviewed as part of a campaign by Mr. Giuliani and his proxies in 2019 and 2020 to procure damaging information about the Biden family, Mr. Zlochevsky explicitly and unequivocally denied those allegations. Specifically, Mr. Zlochevsky denied (1) that anyone at Burisma had âany contactsâ with then former Vice President Biden or his representatives while Hunter Biden served on the Burisma board, and (2) that former Vice President Biden or his staff âin any wayâ assisted Mr. Zlochevsky or Burisma,â wrote Ranking Member Jamie Raskin in the letter.
Here's an excerpt of Zlochevsky's statements:
Q: âPlease detail any contacts you had with VP Joe Biden and his office from 2013 through 2019,â one question asked. âDid Hunter ever facilitate any of those contacts?â
A: âNO ONE FROM BURISMA EVER HAD ANY CONTACTS WITH VP BIDEN OR PEOPLE WORKING FOR HIM DURING HUNTER BIDENâS ENGAGEMENT."
Apparently Rudy had a proffer meeting with DOJ about the fake electors scheme. His reputation is so damaged that it's not clear how effective a witness against Trump he'd be but it sure is fun watching the turds circling the drain.
Fair enough. Let the investigations continue then.
They have been continuing. Much like the persistent investigations into Hillary. Neither has produced much, but if they did manage to find something that wasn't poorly sourced, of questionable veracity, or have a non-comical chain of custody, you would probably have support from many here for legitimate an appropriate actions. After years of "Just wait", "almost there", "next week".... "you'll see"... well you have nothing of note. But other legitimate prosecutors have Trump o n tape sharing classified documents, and narrating his crime. But you don't think that means anything.
Keep investigating the bidens. You've dug up some legitimate dirt on Hunter and he's been forced to pay up on taxes and get rid of a gun he shouldn't have had. No one here is mourning those actions - because we are not the ones who are... inconsistent... around here. If you manage to link Joe to some of this, I'll be happy to see him held to account. But you'll have to do better than RudyG as a source if you want to be taken seriously.
There is some compelling evidence in discovered bank records regarding how Hunter disbursed those funds. That is part of the puzzle. That said, so you're of the opinion that there is no need to investigate any further ? You are satisfied that it all stops with Hunter ?
He has been and continues to be investigated. My quarrel is with those who clearly believe that his escapades must mean that Joe Biden has been bought off and will never believe otherwise.

And until there is evidence of influence, the payments to Hunter Biden are no different than hauls made by Jared and Ivanka or, for that matter, foreign officials/dignitaries staying at the Trump Hotel in DC or other Trump properties.
