You really appreciate the genius when you hear what he did with this song.  Simply amazing.

As with much of my library, I never listened to Dylan by album and could never even tell you which songs came from which albums.  Like much of my older music, I acquired most during the great mp3 pirate raid of the late 90s early 2000s.   Well, I started finding out which songs were from which album and my favorite Dylan album was revealed to me. {#Notworthy}

Curious thing about Dylan is that in interviews he seems to actually get more coherent as he gets older.  I am thinking that in his earlier days he would be channeling and mimicking his mentor Woody and the incoherent speech and strange mannerism of his youth was his public persona.  As he got older he dropped all that and just talks like a normal person now.  Now as for the singing, he went the other way!{#Lol}

How are the recent shows (will have to you tube)?  Last time i saw him was about 10 y.a. at Nassau Coliseum...not a particularly good show.  Time before that, 2-4 years prior, in some field out in Southampton, with Larry Campbell was an amazing experience.  Incredibly energy. Prior to that, mid 90s at the Hollywood Bowl, was a total rocker.  Great show.  First time, mid 80s, in Saratoga...sleeper.

You pays your money you takes your chances. I hated the show in the 80s with Tom Petty! Saw him in a small room and he was talkative and working the crowd, amazing. Saw a bigger show about 8 years ago with John Cougar that went longer than I expected and was really nice. Not transcendental, but worth every penny.

Those are some good choices, Hell they are all good in my book.  Even the later stuff when he can barely lift his voice to a whisper. {#Eek} Would have loved to see him live, from what I have seen he really rocks out and the live renditions are better than the original recordings.

By '78 it was time to retool and take it to Europe. I was there this day in Nurenburg at the Zepplinfield, 6 weeks or so from turning 23 myself. 2 months later I'm in Munich for a week of Octoberfest and random drunkenness (though a visit to Dachau sobered me up for awhile.) 4 months later I was a civilian again, chasing what now can be summed up as futility...

but anyway...

That is interesting.  I only got to see the first 15 minutes so far and am enthralled.  I honestly don't care what is true and what is not, it is damned entertaining and the unique sped up version of Isis is worth the price of admission alone!{#Clap}

Edit: I actually say I watched over 30 minutes of it.  I was enjoying so much time was indeed flying.  Seriously I cannot wait to see the rest!{#Dancingbanana_2} I have always loved Dylan, but it seems the older I get the more and more he moves up the list of my all time favorites. Much like RP he has quite the healthy representation in my music library. {#Eek}
