A shooting in the Holocaust Museum in the District. Don't know anything other than that; could not get back in my office building downtown because it had been temporarily locked down. Just let us back in.

wow. ......wow. my friend who was on the swiss air flight 10 years ago was with both her parents and her brother, her whole family. her brother flew in from cali, her parents from mass and she was in nyc, they all flew out together from kennedy airport. the company handling their will had a hard time tracking down the next of kin. we friends had to clean out her rented apartment. I guess her fathers nephew who lived in GB took care of the house in massachusetts.

In that location, there is no VHF radio coverage, only HF, and that is not constantly monitored. Besides, in a crisis, there is the pilot's mandate: Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. Regarding the ACARS messages, one of the failures reported was of the Inertial Reference Unit, and there is a description of an ADIRU failure on a QANTAS flight here.

so nobody real has claimed this, and the polot was taken out. I think everyone on the plane was teleported out by aliens. they are maybe in some kind of zoo and the airplane was left to crash on its own. or maybe an investigation into those on board about who had extremely powerful 'friends' who wanted them dead. or maybe an instant gas was set off that put everyone out on the plane and and and..... that said. this is all very sad. I'm getting flashbacks of when my friend was killed in a plane crash about 10 years ago on swiss air. it took all day for us to get word that she was definitely on that plane.

It's going to take them a while to figure it out and by the time they do, it won't be news anymore so we, the public, may never know. At least, if this is indeed wreckage from that plane, they have a place to start looking for the black box, which is probably at the bottom of the ocean by now.

Powerful = short battery life. The transponders exist and the batteries last a week or so as is. Keep in mind that the antenna is likely underwater.

It would be very unusual for lighting alone to have brought this Airbus down. Jets are struck by lightning all the time, and no crash has been attributed to a direct hit for four decades.
The A330 is a very modern airliner and is designed to withstand a lot, so whatever did this was exceptional indeed.
