Here's a link to an hour long discussion of New Horizons.

Marc's part is at around 51 minutes, where he explains why the Hubble is so important and how he identifies Kuiper belt objects.
Previously, he was using software to get pictures of Pluto that were two pixels big.
Mind boggling - and real world.

I'm not even an astrophysicist, and I'm freaking excited. I can only imagine how Marc feels...

Cool... I'm going to bring that up on the YouTube for the boy...

Too many clouds here to see the eclipse. But at about 4:00 am the cleared enough to let the bright moonlight in.

While we search the cosmos for exoplanets, we find we are slightly more crowded right here.

I thought they were OK and worked well enough. It's probably the easiest (and cheapest) way to do historical stuff. Full blown 3D for history bits (like they did the amazing cosmic stuff) would be expensive as well as difficult.

The first episode is also on YT.

Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) is producer...

I didn't see it but found myself awake at 3 a.m. and decided to look up my non-TV options... looks like at least the first episode is available free on Hulu. So we'll check it out tonight...
