Keep it simple.  You got a good thing going here; don't over-think it.

btw, in our pod, we have a couple of guests to whom I'm decided to mail a mix CD on my month.  They're not normally in the pod, but because they're sending me their mixes now, I will be reciprocating.

Question for the Club:

It feels kind of weird that the co-hosts don't get any mixes on their month.  I know people have been handling this issue in various ways, but I'd kind of like to get something down in the official logistics if I can.  So my question to you all is how do we make sure co-hosts receive at least one mix on their month?

Here are a few options I've been kicking around.  Feel free to add any here that you don't see.

a) Do nothing - the current logistics are fine.

b) Add ONE co-host to each of the other co-hosts' mail-out list - this would bring the number of CDs you mail out to 5.

c) Add ALL co-hosts to each of the other co-hosts' mail-out list - this would currently bring the number of CDs you mail out to 10.

——————————————-

I would prefer to do something along the lines of Option B.  5 CDs to mail out is still a manageable number, and all co-hosts would be covered (receiving one mixtape that month).  Option C is appealing to me because each co-host would receive multiple CDs that month.  It makes the role of co-host all the more sweet.  BUT...as our group grows, so will the number of CDs you as a co-host will have to mail out.  10 is already an unmanageably high number for some.

I'm open to the ideas of the group here...

Welly: getting my mix out in the mail to you today! You should get in in about 4 days (barring the whole missing bar thing).

rmgman: Got your mix!  Clever idea!  Toward the end there I felt like I was getting little sound bites of cool. {#Cool}   As for Auto Response, I'm not quite all the way through.  I have reserved it for when I'm in the car. {#Motor}

CD-Text.

At one time you could submit updates and add new CDs to various public CDDB sources, and you might still be able to.  Would be amusing to flood it with a multitude of entries along the lines of "RP Mix".

By the way, you should consider using the open source public license freedb instead.

I know it is possible but you have to do it deliberately (and not futz it up somehow... and I have iTunes set to include CD Text but burned my discs from another computer and might not have it checked)

Next go-round I'll try to make it work. I think the players in cars should recognize this too so that would be nice.

I think that all mixtape CDs lose their track info, right? If they're MP3s it's fine but if iTunes can't find the Album on CDDB it just gives up and gives you Track 1 Track 2 etc.

I'll post the Tracklist Monday since I fine-tuned it there and that's the latest (I can't remember the final order I went with). The packaging doesn't have song titles so you're in the dark anyhoo 'til then.

I sure did. Really. If you're dying to know exactly what track it might be, check my uploads...
