Beaker wrote:A scientific equation can predict whether a song will be a chart hit
" The research also found that generally chart songs are becoming louder and songs which have hit the top of the charts are usually louder than those which are at the bottom, suggesting a connection between loudness and success."
'Loudness' of the music has been discussed here some time ago.

RnR Hall of Fame seems about as relevant as Rolling Stones top 100 guitarists, vocalists...

I really want to see Denny Tedesco's movie, although Carol Kaye has dissed it big time (below).

WhoCares, the supergroup that re-joins Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, have announced the release of their debut single in North America on July 27 via Eagle Rock. The single features two new tracks, “Out of My Mind” and “Holy Water,” and will raise money for a project to rebuild a music school in Armenia that was destroyed in a 1988 earthquake. The single will also include a music video for “Out of My Mind” and a documentary about Iommi’s involvement in the Armenian charity. Iommi and Gillan haven’t worked together since Sabbath’s 1983 album Born Again. The supergroup includes Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord, and HIM guitarist Mikko “Linde” Lindstrom. You can check out the music video. http://www.revolvermag.com/news/tony-iommi-and-ian-gillan-release-whocares-single.html

Skye Edwards: Solid AirTUE AUG 2, 2011 The late John Martyn broke ground in the late 60's with his lush sound. He was a cult figure who counted musicians like Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton among his admirers. Johnny Boy Would Love This: A Tribute to John Martyn, a double-disc tribute recording featuring lots of bands we love (Beck, Swell Season) is set for release and Today's Top Tune is from Skye Edwards of Morcheeba. It's her version of a song Martyn penned for his friend Nick Drake, it's called "Solid Air."
