I think you should take the auto stuff somewhere to a thread that does not have ur girl in it.   At the very worst, motivate it as the path of least resistance.   Otherwise, racers, classic car enthusiasts, the serious off-road enthusiasts:  they all play by the rules and do not pose a threat to the public.  What is there not to like?

. ...... I have a lot more information about Daytona's... but I don't want the villagers coming for me with pitchforks, axes and torches.

I think it was originally poorly-spelled old spam post that eventually got re-tasked and then resurrected after the great purge.  There are still some spam threads left that Bill didn't eradicate - most of them were selling shoes.

Those things are going for crazy prices these days!
And my cheap uncle has at least 10 really rare ones in stock mode, primo shape.

I saw that car at a Mopar Car show up in Van Nuys a few years back.
We all had a good laugh. And all of us experts were poking fun at the movie for it's total incorrectness concerning that Daytona featured in it.
Especially when the rear wing broke off of it when it hit something in the movie.
Those rear wings were rated somewhere around 1,000+ lbs. of down force.
Joe Dirt's car isn't a "real" Daytona... it's a "clone". Real Daytona's are selling for over $150,000+ these days.

This picture was taken there in Van Nuys right after were poking fun at it.
That my ex- son in laws back. I was just standing off the left of him.
We were shoo'ed away so the picture could be taken...

Here's a picture of my friends Daytona clone taken at a dry lake bed in Lucerne Valley that was in the Spice Girls video "Say You'll Be There".

He has a shot that has all 5 of them sitting on the wing.
He still has the "clone" but has painted it to this tribute to Neil Castles a stock car racer from the 60'- 70's.
And he drives it everyday...

This shot is of him bringing my '70 Charger to my house 10 years ago.

Yeah, but you wouldn't want to daily that one. How about something more practical: A N600 Honda (well body shell) with an 11K RPM 175HP Yamaha 1200 engine.
