The original Danish version has been a huge success here - I missed it but am going to get the box set. I read an interview today that said that they very much doubted that US TV stations would ever show it in Danish with subtitles.

Watched a couple new shows of the DVR last night

"Lone Star" - this may be the "sleeper" this season.  Texas con man with two families wants to go straight.  Premise sounds simple but they did a good job with the first episode, I will continue to watch.  Lead actor looks like a young George Clooney.

"Detroit 1-8-7" - typical police drama but as in all these it is the cast that makes or breaks these shows.  With Michael Imperioli (one of my favs) and James McDaniel (from NYPD Blue) they have the base of a good cast.  First episode was pretty decent.  Another one I will continue to watch.

Undercovers starts tonight.  I'm going to check it out if for nothing other than the fact that I love Boris Kodjoe

Then the 2-hour season premier of SVU with guest Joan Cusack.

I loved and miss My Name is Earl.  And they didn't even end it, just canceled it at the end of last season.

agree on both.
I liked Raising Hope. but I fear it will run thin after a season, like My Name is Earl did.

I watched Raising Hope.  I wasn't planning on it but it was on after Glee and I didn't have anything else to do.  It was funny.  Stereotypical but probably not any more so than a lot of other stuff out there.

Very pleasantly surprised with Raising Hope.  Didn't think the "low working class" humor would work but pretty funny.

Not so pleased with Running Wilde.  If it doesn't get better next week - off my list.

We often wait till they come out on DVD and watch them in big chunks of several epsiodes at a time. I find the really good series have multiple episode story arcs and are written and directed more like films anyway, so watching two or three eps in a row really is more enjoyable,

The only reason I watched M&M was that it was a Chuck Lorre show, and I'm a fan. Fat jokes don't work as good for me as sex jokes, so if he plans on stringing this show along on that like he does 2-1/2 Men... uh uh.

Especially when you don't pay for premium cable.  A lot of the HBO and Showtime programs look great, but I'm still not willing to pay the extra.

I was despondent when we finished The Wire. Deadwood came close, IMHO. But that kind of writing for TV is rare.

wow. someone i know said the pilot for the event looked good and reminded them a little of 24 in a way...i guess i won't take their word for it.

i loved the shield.
my mom loves burn notice. i never liked it.

The best part about 5-0 was that fabulous reconstruction of the original opening, reshooting everything exactly the same. It just missed the "Kam Fong as Chin Ho." But the show lost my interest quickly.

The Event was so incredibly horrible that it floors me that so many name actors were sucked into it.

I'm finishing season 5 of the Wire and will be sick when I'm done. It is indeed one of the best things from TV.
Then I move on to The Shield and Burn Notice.
