Thank you Judi. I cared for my mom when she was battling cancer. I just kept thinking "I sure don't want my kids to have to do this for me..." It wasn't pretty most of the time.

This is us, too. Not to put to blunt a spin on things, greg and i are fucking terrified of what we're going to be told when we walk in there tomorrow. How can it possibly be good news, right?

Mine have all that as well. Mom recently made arrangements for their funerals and it seems that's all she can talk about lately. So it's a little that right now.

Alexandra wrote:Right. Sometimes (unless they all share the same sense of humor) When my grandmother was a young mother, her father—who was dying of cancer and suffering greatly—begged her to take his gun and shoot him. It did a number on her. My mom took great delight in her terminal cancer diagnosis, as you might imagine. All she'd ever wanted was to be with Dad from the moment he passed away. Shifting my focus from helping Mom live with dignity to helping her die with dignity was a huge conflict every day. But asking her to live another day with her dementia would have been cruel. I still hurt from that dilemma, but I know I did exactly what she wanted. So I only have to square it with myself. Me and Mom - we're good.
