The couple of times I've heard rattlesnakes, at first I just thought they were insects like loud cicadas or something. They need klaxons. I tell myself I'm glad I don't know how many brown snakes are around the house. Found a dead one tangled up in bird netting and the cat dispatched a young one and left it on the porch.
