Someone needs a copy editor. First thought, guy dies after falling 799 feet. Second thought, guy plunges 800 feet and nearly dies. I did not read, man nearly falls, which would have resulted in an 800 foot death smack, but he didn't.
"(HK Traffic dept) has implemented a new device connected to traffic lights that shines a red light downward toward pedestrians who are using their mobile phones while waiting at an intersection"

JERUSALEM â On Sunday, thousands of ultraorthodox mourners attended two funerals of famous rabbis who died from the coronavirus. I lived in Des Moines in 1975 and there was a guy with a paper towel tube and a can of Pam at a party I was invited to by a co-worker...He would hold the tube to his nose and spray the Pam for about 5 seconds up the tube and then nod out for 15 minutes, wake up, and repeat, and he did it all night long. It was scary.
While in high school I saw a guy soak a rag in paint thinner and put it in a bread bag and huff his way to oblivion...literally. 20 years later I saw his emaciated shell hanging around a Handy Pantry combing the gas pumpers for change. He was one of those tough guys when I was a kid. Scary. Bully. Like many of those sons of blue collar alcoholism where I grew up he likely is long gone and I feel his emptiness when I'm down or feeling weak from or for one reason or another...
Thanks Mom. You were the difference. I love you. I miss you so much...

When we recycle old batteries they closely inspect them for tiny holes. Apparently the tweakers extract the electrolyte (battery acid) for some kind of process to make a meth like substance. so yeah,
