"In 1900, German chocolate company Hildebrands produced a series of postcards imagining the wonders of life in the year 2000.
The optimistic renderings envisioned people in Victorian fashions enjoying lives of boundless leisure and comfort enabled by a century of technological advancement..."

He did really nice work; it must've been fun doing those illustrations.  That picture even has an iPad/Skype/Echo Show kind of device.

We were robbed; they do have French fries and steak at least.

Also cinnamon buns, copius grapefruit and spaghetti squash. Not to mention the snow covered landscape,  the circus animal cages and the resurrection of Topo Gigio in digital format.
I'm a bit curious about the kid in a skeleton costume though.

I'm impressed by the HD color flatscreen TV. In 1956, TV was black & white, with 4:3 aspect ratios and big bulbous tubes.

But they're grilling the grapefruit. That's just wrong.

The TV caught my eye too. Pretty good call for 1956. We grill a lot of fruit - pineapple/bannana/ect.  We haven't done grapefruit yet, but now that I'm thinking about it, I would do that and add it to coleslaw to go with fish tacos.  Those guys knew what I'll be doing in three weeks, amazing.

Yes, fortunately they seemed to be wrong about grilled grapefruit actually becoming a big thing in the future.

Yeah, there's snow on the ground but no one is wearing a coat.  It doesn't appear as if the patio is completely sealed in, though there is a Plexiglas wall - what's keeping them warm?  Maybe that magic grill.  The cat seems happy.

Plus le chef giving that chopper the thumbs down. Maybe that's a clue to skeleton boy...

Oh my gosh! before I watch I just gotta say- Jethro Tull; around '73-4. The band is performing from A Passion Play. There's a plain wooden barstool onstage with a telephone sitting on it. Every so often during a song the band randomly stops and they all cup an ear and lean toward the phone, which is not ringing. They must have done this 4 or 5 times. Finally the show and encore is over, house lights come up, the phone starts to ring and Ian Anderson comes back onstage and answers "hello hello", then holds the receiver out to the crowd and exclaims "it's for you!"

There's your random concert memory for the day...
