It seems we are back up. Normal service & audio pleasure resumed.

Is there an issue with the UK receiving RP via Alexa using the RP skill? I understand Tunein are being wizard sleeves at the moment, but why is the RP app also failing here in the UK?
I miss my daily RP. Please help
We sincerely hope that PRS (the UK copyright agency) hasn't requested that our Alexa skill be disabled â like they have with TuneIn â but that's certainly a possibility.

RP defaults to a higher bitrate than most services (for better sound quality) and that can cause dropouts if there's network congestion. Try "Alexa, tell radio paradise to set bitrate to medium" (or low, if you still have problems).
We've both been working at home for about a month now, using RP, Pandora, Amazon Music, etc. via Echo as our soundtrack. RP drops a lot, like several times a day. What's up with that?

I play RP from Tunein everyday via my Amazon Echo & Dot positioned on different floors of my home using my "Everywhere" group with no problems at all. Very reliable. The skill command I use is "Alexa, play Radio Paradise Everywhere"
I did have an issue the other day when I accidently turned off my Dot when trying to manually increase the volume. It seemed to put my Echo & Dot out of sync & so the Everywhere group wasn't behaving properly. I turned both the Echo & Dot off & on again and they were back in sync, so that was an Alexa problem, not RP.
Bill, one thing.... I typically listen to either the main web feed or the Mellow Mix. I invoke the mix with "Alexa, play Radio Paradise Mellow Mix Everywhere" with no issues. I'd like to be able to play the "My Favorites" mix but Alexa isn't handling it. If I say "Alexa, Play Radio Paradise My Favorites" or "Alexa, Play Radio Paradise My Favorites Mix" it comes back with "Radio Paradise from Tunein" and defaults to the main mix. Is there not an Alexa Skill for "My Favorites" or do you have another suggestion?
Thanks!
The 'Favorites' mix is only available via our Alexa skill — which does not work with speaker groups — and not via TuneIn. The phrase you use to start the stream, "Play Radio Paradise Mellow Mix" starts playback via TuneIn.
My speaker group doesn't respond always for my requests to play Radio Paradise on TuneIn. It seems fine with other requests. I find myself using a portible sony speaker to travel with me throughout the house but that's ridiculous. I love RP and want to continue being a supporter. Wish someone could figure out this snafu. Is it Amazon interference? Is it RP?
We have no control over what happens with TuneIn. And, unfortunately, Amazon has not opened up their speaker-group functionality to developers like us — just to a select few like TuneIn.
As for why you would have problems with RP & not other stations on TuneIn, that's probably related to our bitrate, which is higher than pretty much any other TuneIn stations (or Amazon Music). We have lower bitrates available, but TuneIn defaults to the highest one (for better sound).
Once we're able to support speaker groups ourselves, this situation should improve. Until then, all I can suggest is to make sure that all of your Echo units are on 2.4 hGz rather than 5 gHz WiFi. That will generally give better results. Though if you're on 2.4 already, you might give 5 a try.
When i ask my echo 3 to play mellow mix it will play 5 or so songs and just repeat those same songs over and over... anyone else having issues? Tried on tune in same result

That's really weird. Sounds like it stopped working for you along time ago.
I've poked around the Amazon forums and I do see some complaints about people suddenly not able to play music. The usual things to try are power cycling everything or factory reset. But that seems unlikely to help in your case. So many devices over such a long period.
I'm sort of going through the same thing with a Sonos One, it suddenly stopped working with any music skill. Different networks and a factory reset so far don't help. Only thing I haven't had a chance to try yet is setting it up with a different Amazon account to see if the current one is corrupted somehow.
On the positive side. On my echo the TuneIn skill has started to work again. "Alexa play Radio Paradise on TuneIn" should be working.
Do any other music skills work for you?

Hi Bill, no, no speaker groups.
I have three Alexas in two different houses. All of them stopped playing RP several months ago. I've been trying again today, and no luck.
TuneIn no longer carries RP on Alexa as well.
Is there anything I can do to help debug/troubleshoot? I've tried enabling/re-enabling and acount linking/de-linking. The only command that works is "Alexa, as Radio Paradise what is playing." I've tried sync, resume, skip, etc, but nothing works.

Hello,
Anyone else having a problem with the Skill on Amazon Echo / Alexa? I say "Alexa, play Radio Paradise", it says "Welcome to Radio Paradise", then sometimes a song plays briefly, then goes silent, or I hear Bill say something like "Welcome to Radio Paradise" then silence.
It works if I ask, "Alexa, ask TuneIn to play Radio Paradise."
I've tried disabling, then re-enabling the skill and re-linking my account, but no luck.
Thanks!
Do you have them included in a speaker group? If so, you'll need to use "Alexa, play Radio Paradise on TuneIn".

Unfortunately TuneIn is the recommended fallback but they're not handling RP requests correctly on Alexa at the moment.
One other thing you can try is " Alexa skip " if resume doesn't work. ( Allows it to play a new file from the start, which can help on a couple of the earliest models )

I have an Alexa. I live in the US and I have been having issues for a bit. The Main mix no longer plays at all. I used to be able to get it to run for a while and would then have to ask Alexa to resume and it would. I can no longer get the Main mix to work. The other channels will play a few songs and then will no longer work. I have disabled and re-enabled the skill. I have no issues with any other radio station. If I try playing on tunein I get "Radio Paradise in not available on Tuniein Live". I logged onto my Alexa account to see if I could see anything and noticed that everytime I asked alexa to play RP there was a notification asking me to link my account. I thought maybe this was stopping successful play so I linked my accounts but it still does not work.

Seeing a lot of issues with Alexa and Alexa on Sonos at the moment.
For an Amazon Alexa device it's not playing Radio Paradise, via Tune In. Says something about it not being available on Tune In Live.
Does seem to be working via Google Assistant currently. Could try adding Google Assistant as the voice service on the Sonos instead of Alexa. Not availalble in many countries yet though so may not be an option.

I'm using the new Sonos one with Alexa. I specifically bought the One because i listen to RP so much . I'm growing to hate Alexa... not RP's fault but I'm hoping someone can help.
as of a few weeks ago, I can't even get Alexa to pull up Radio Paradise on TuneIn .
When i say "alexa, play radio paradise on TuneIn" or "Alexa, tell Tunein to play radio paradise" Alexa announces that "Radio Paradise on TuneIn live isn't available right now" and the Sonos player/app Paradise shows that it is trying to connect to some stream with a logo that says "nonstop" (i'd attach a screenshot of the logo if i could).
is this just my system or is there another station called Radio Paradise that is hijacking this command in alexa/tunein?
