People that promote non-medical speculation, intentionally inaccurate information, conspiracy theories that are obviously junk or disproven - anything to decrease an understanding of what we know is happening - they're culpable for the resultant deaths.

This is not "hey Bitcoin might be good and if not it's just money."
This is a measured, spreading, horrible pandemic that is legit killing or damaging people. Writing a "controversial" blog to get clicks and make some money is pathetic and reprehensible. Stop spreading this shit.

And it makes you wonder about a person who would continue to do so. What is their motivation? "Truth"? Hardly. If so, they'd get a science degree and learn about what's happening. Instead, they're just stirring the pot to make others confused and sick. Why?

States With Few Coronavirus Restrictions Are Spreading the Virus Beyond Their Borders
Lax states are attracting shoppers and students from stricter neighbors — and sending back COVID-19 cases. The imbalance underscores the lack of a national policy.

British and U.S. officials spar over ‘vaccine nationalism.’
British and American officials sparred on Thursday morning over how Britain had beaten the United States to authorizing a coronavirus vaccine, a debate encompassing regulatory standards and politics that has heated up as wealthy countries vie to receive the first shipments of vaccines.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that British regulators had not scrutinized the data as carefully as their American counterparts in the Food and Drug Administration.

“We have the gold standard of a regulatory approach with the F.D.A.,” Dr. Fauci said on Thursday. “The U.K. did not do it as carefully and they got a couple of days ahead.”

Gavin Williamson, Britain’s education secretary, said on Thursday that Britain had won the race to authorize the first fully tested coronavirus vaccine because its regulators were superior.

“We’ve obviously got the best medical regulators,” Mr. Williamson said.

“Much better than the French have, much better than the Belgians have, much better than the Americans have. That doesn’t surprise me at all because we’re a much better country than every single one of them, aren’t we.”

Those remarks drew eye rolls from British scientists, but also provoked more serious concerns that any chest-beating by government ministers since Britain became the first Western country to authorize a coronavirus vaccine risked undermining the public’s faith in one.

Several top lawmakers in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government have incorrectly cast Britain’s split with the European Union as the reason it authorized a vaccine first. In fact, Britain remains under the bloc’s regulatory umbrella when it comes to drug and vaccine approvals, and was able to move more quickly because of an old law enabling it to make determinations on its own in public health emergencies. (...)

Just libertarian the heck out of it and let the companies sell the vaccines as soon as they begin testing.

What worries me is that ordinary folks will invest far too much hope in early, effective vaccines only to be sharply disappointed.

Most folks have little or no understanding of how long and costly technological innovation can be.

At the moment, I expect a 3rd or even 4th wave of the pandemic before we get ahead of it.

In early November, the Mayor of Austin posted a FB video encouraging everyone to wear masks, no social gatherings, etc. Not news.

The fact he shot it in Cabo San Lucas, where he and seven friends flew on a private jet? After a non-distanced wedding event? News.

Local journalist named Tony Plohetski broke the story - he is Austin's version of '60 Minutes': you REALLY don't want to see him at your door.

This UK bar is posing as a church to get around pandemic rules

The Romans had Bacchus, the Greeks had Dionysus and the Aztecs, well they had Centzon Tōtōchtin: a hard-drinking gang of 400 rabbit gods.
The bunnies haven't had many prayers sent their way in recent years but, 2020 being what it is, a tequila bar in Nottingham, England, is trying to change that — and rescue its business at the same time.
England left its second national lockdown on December 2 and entered a system of tiered restrictions. Nottingham falls into the highest-risk Tier 3 category, which mandates that hospitality venues remain closed, other than for delivery and takeaway.

The newly christened Church of 400 Rabbits (formerly 400 Rabbits) is an Aztec-themed bar with an extensive tequila menu and a pending application to Nottingham's registrar general to become a place of worship.
The reason this five-year-old establishment is now hoping to mix spirituality with spirits is that it's spotted a loophole in England's Covid-19 rules which means that, if you're a place of worship, then people from the same household or bubble can enter your premises.
Having posted off an application to certify a place of meeting for religious worship (under the Places of Worship Registration Act 1855), the bar is now seeking congregants through its website.
