The Stanford hospital board... This is their feedback for now on Corona virus: The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know if he/she is infected? By the time they have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late. Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning. Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, etc., it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicates no infection. In critical time, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air. Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very dangerous. Please send and share this with family and friends. Take care everyone and may the world recover from this Coronavirus soon.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - CORONAVIRUS 1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it.
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
10. Can't emphasis enough - drink plenty of water!
THE SYMPTOMS
1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.
3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.
A woman on the ski patrol here died on Friday. The family just realized they needed to cancel the funeral.
Yeah, they canceled a service for a guy we know here. It's all very surreal. Looking at the array of reactions of people it does seem that everyone is in some stage of grief - I find myself in and out of a few stages myself, plus a little paranoia, exhaustion and a bit of resolve now and then.
I don't doubt that. But that is not to say there wasn't a meeting. US ambassador said "it was way over-played". This suggests there was some kind of meeting. And German government sources still count for something in my book. The truth is, neither you nor I will know what was actually said or offered. C'est la vie.
Your response now clearly falls into the conspiracy theory / tinfoil hat zone.

The White house consulting with experts in a time of crisis is exactly what I'd hope they'd be doing. In fact, it sounds so...competent that I'm surprised it happened.
If German sources count for something then the Germans to whom the offer was allegedly made ought to count for more than the German newspaper making claims about said offer. Unless everyone except their anonymous source is lying.
I totally agree, all governments should be consulting experts in the field. It is the nationalist bent that makes me uneasy.
And you don't obtain control over a company by speaking to the company. You do that by speaking to its owners. So, there is indeed a constellation under which nobody is in fact lying:
Dietmar Hopp, the owner of the company, sought to put an end to the public fight on Monday saying the business would stay in Germany, but confirmed that Trump had sought to secure exclusivity rights. "It is not possible that a German company develops the vaccine and that it is used exclusively in the U.S. That was not an option for me," he told Germany's Sport1 when asked why he had refused an offer by Trump worth €1 billion.
2. Understand the context vis-Ã -vis Prof. Fake News (aka KarmaKarma aka).
3. TDS bonus: âthe 15, within a couple of days, is going to be down to close to zero. Thatâs a pretty good job weâve done.â
1. I'll leave that to people who read German.
2. I understand the context, try and understand content as well.
3. Trump is a dishonest gasbag. Acknowledged. Over and over. Nothing he says should be trusted at face value. That doesn't make everything said about him true.
2. leads back to 1.
3. It also doesn't mean petty accusations of TDS are true. As the cultists like to say, it's all fake news and TDS. And apparently they got some self-serving allies on occasion (the librul left-wing medias!)...
Something happened. Government sources broke/leaked that story (to a conservative-leaning German publication) shortly after the American CEO left the company without an explanation. And the company appears to be in damage control mode.
Grenell, the über-loyalist toady, denies it. And that settles it. Fake News. TDS. Gotcha!

They are just down the road from me.. shall I go and ask? It wasn't a hoax. The US ambassador's take on it was that it was "way overplayed" which is probably closer to the truth. There is nothing wrong with funding research or fast-tracking a vaccine to stop a pandemic. CureVac has some deep pockets behind it: Dietmar Hopp (SAP founder) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to name just two. I doubt that a lack of funding is the issue. Which then leaves the question of why would the US administration want to invest in the firm, either as equity or government grant or whatever. The whiff of wanting control of some kind in return for big dollars still hangs over the episode if you ask me. (and this is corroborated by the reaction of the German government, who would not want to ruffle feathers unnecessarily).
Edit: To give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they just wanted to secure a license, again that would be totally bona fide.
Curevac via Twitter: "To make it clear again on coronavirus: CureVac has not received from the US government or related entities an offer before, during and since the Task Force meeting in the White House on March 2. CureVac rejects all allegations from press."
