I'll be 69 by then and still in a high risk group, forever actually.

Nope, it is time to get away from working directly with the public.

To think that is still safely possible for me, is delusional on my part.

Thanks.  There is an optical lab in Youngstown we use that is looking for phone reps and I could jump right in, but that is an hour + each way with tolls and roughly 110 miles roundtrip daily.  Might take a hard look at it though.  There are few things that I can physically do anymore.

I could always go out on the road and drive a big rig if need be, but it would take me away from my docs.  But a year behind the wheel could allow me to sock away enough bucks for 5 to 10 years.  Couldn't do any loading or unloading as physically I'm totally worthless.

It's becoming increasingly clear that without an effective vaccine, my days of being an optician are pretty much over.  So at age 67 it is once again time to reinvent myself to be employable for something that will keep the kitty's kibbles coming through the door.

Maybe a customer service rep based at home ?  Anyone know of a good outfit looking for part time phone reps, or where is a good place to look for these gigs, let me know.  Seriously.

I only need 1k a month to keep the balls in the air, but I need it.

I tried looking about a year ago and everything led to worthless click bait sites.

It seems like the whole work environment dynamic as we've known it, can be changed forever.  I guess we'll see, but in the meantime where does everyone go?  If I come across something that seems reasonable/reputable I'll let you know.

There are no excuses for not getting things done inside the house!

True but so sad .Recently retired and as i have some good carpentry skills and an eye for finishing detail ( a watchmaker btw) a local coffin maker hinted I might want to help out .
Usually they imported flat packs from , guess who.  Now that's off they are making up their own and kicked into 8 day a week production to meet expected demand
But the traveling 180 kms to and fro would be a killer for me ,excuse the pun.

Yes, the good news is the weather has been supreme all year for growing.  Our gardens are bursting from the seams and just scored a truckload of horse poop yesterday!{#Sunny}

We are doing fine, but we are geared for this type of thing, we know this is just one of many apocalyptic crises to come.{#Cry}  It is my parents that I am most surprised and happy about, they were on top of this back in February stocked up on food, gas, toilet paper, ammo and everything they could possibly need to be hunkered down for months.  They are not allowing anyone to come to their house or leaving their property till the coast is clear.  I went to visit them one last time a couple of weeks ago and they were gloved up and masked and would not allow me to come anywhere near them did some work out in the yard for my dad and visited with them as they sat on the upstairs porch then went home.  I am so proud of them.  I guess I get it honest.{#Lol}
