Nice. I'm not familiar with her. Don't know the date relative to Tommy Dorsey breaking the color barrier, but I always wonder about combos from this period and especially whether the film industry wouldn't have been willing to show an integrated group. Doesn't take away from the sweet music.

That was from a late-1950s TV show called "Peter Gunn"  The main character hung around in a jazz club all the time and the singer was his girlfriend.  The Benny Goodman Trio (1935-36), which featured Teddy Wilson on piano (and Gene Krupa on drums), is generally recognized as the first interracial band.  They later added Lionel Hampton on vibraphone.  His later big band featured Charlie Christian on the (then new) electric guitar.

I heard him say that truckers use a large book to log miles, cargo, fuel, routes, etc. Truckers call it their big log. And that is somehow where he got the name about a love song for the highway.

Of course, I was just kidding about the title there. Not about the power of perception though.

He couldn't call it Long Log or Large Log. Just doesn't sound right. Extensive Log? Great Log? I can't say.
Maybe Flight Log. Both heavy and light. Like subtle archetypes.
That guitar tone is like a golden ribbon. I bought this album new...

Song title and video, which was directed by Storm Thorgerson, had little to do with each other.
Big log was written in the winter when logs had run out, and only thing left was a large tree/big log, which they couldnt cut but fed into the fire.
Great song/video...loved that clean guitar tone Robbie Blunt had in those early Plant albums.
