But yeah the wings. Seems like they would have thought of that, or hung it backwards or something...

Lake Eyre last filled in 2011 so I can imagine it was still wet underneath. Apparently birds flock in from hundreds of miles away to breed when it has water.

There is a Lake Eyre Yacht Club: At this stage there is about a 30% chance of a regatta in 2015.  Even if there is a wind and with the shallow bottom, they apparently don't get much in the way of waves because the salinity makes the water pretty viscous.

If you hung the plane upside down the sling would stay taught. {#Wink}

Pro tip: remove wings before trying to sling a plane beneath a helicopter. Not the first time this scenario has played out.

This is the thread you're looking for.

Worth a repost over there.  Gave me the willies.  Could be what it takes to get me to finally get there and hang em up.

The wife finally quit after her back surgery in July.

Melbourne Cup day was yesterday and it is a big deal in Oz. About 100,000 people go to see and be seen and to get piss drunk. Some people actually watch the race. Afterwards the area is covered with an impressive amount of trash and passed-out white trash. It's a public holiday in most of Victoria (we get Bendigo Cup day off instead).  Around the rest of the country work often stops so people can watch the race.
I'm not really interested in fashion but I confess to enjoying the creativity of the women getting 'all frocked up'. I'm only interested from an artistic viewpoint, really. {#Yes}

It's a footbridge across the Yarra River in Melbourne.  They built a bar around the piling under the bridge in the middle of the river.  Unfortunately the river is flooding it out.  The TV news is loving it.

The fancy building in the background is the Flinders Street train station.

Maybe building a bar under the bridge to bring in the troll traffic wasn't such a great idea.
