(Amazon Echo Dots, "Alexa, Play The Radio Paradise Station", United Kingdom, Main Mix)
Experiencing some new behaviour over the last 2-3 days.
It seems to fix itself again eventually. As I say, it's done this a couple of times in the last few days, at different times.
13:00 - music playing without any issue
21:43 - music interrupted by an announcement from Bill, followed by 7 minutes of silence
21:50 - looping station ident (female, Alana? "This is the main mix on Radio Paradise" followed by a male, foreign - not English - language), for the last 25 minutes (it's now 22:15)
22:15 - the looping station ident just stopped, and now silence (will post an update when something else happens)
Updates:
22:23 - Bill is back, with a (looping) announcement "You're listening to the main mix on Radio Paradise, and if you enjoy what we do you probably have a friend or two..." (repeating)
22:32 - Still Bill, but he's mixing it up a bit - in addition to the above 22:23 "friends" announcement, Bill now also says "This is the Radio Paradise Main Mix. Thank you very much for letting us provide your soundtrack today". And then both repeat (22:35 now)
22:46 - One round of "You're listening to the Radio Paradise Main Mix and we are ever so glad that you joined us today" then silence... (it's now 22:52)
22:57 - Bill is back again, on a loop with "This is the Radio Paradise Main Mix. Thank you very much for letting us provide your soundtrack today" (repeating).
23:04 - The looping ident is now "... provide your soundtrack today" (22:57) immediately followed by "You're listening to the Radio Paradise Main Mix and we are ever so glad that you joined us today" (repeating)
I'll stop now - hopefully you get the idea, but "The Radio Paradise Station" is pretty busted. :D
Final edit: Video with a snippet of what is happening. Currently now silence at 23:51, 2 hours since it broke.
Final final edit: And we're back, at 00:40 (playing "Dancing with The Muse" by Chris Spheeris which started at 00:36 according to the RP play list).
One more edit: Nope, crap! We managed 2 songs (last one being U2/Even Better Than the Real Thing) and it's now gone to silence again, at 00:46. Giving up for the night... hopefully it will be working again Saturday!
It's very intermittent (the above images are now working 10 minutes later - maybe I'm hitting a different back-end load balanced server? Is there a server in the cluster that is missing some artwork?)
Thanks for the report. This should be back to normal now.

I have this too, on my Logitech Squeezebox system. It's intermittent, mostly shows, but too often not. And it happens on three devices.
I thought it was a Logitech Squeezebox issue, but apparently not, then. For me, it has been going on for more than I week, but was initially much worse than it is now, so maybe it is slowly fixing itself.

For me it's been occuring for approx 48 hours,it seems to cycle( to a refresh every 30 minutes.) Audio is still perfect. Maybe an Image server is being maintained.. I do get some cool pictures of guitars keyboards as placeholderd for missing album art retrieval.. No worries,It will get sorted.
Howdy, There seems to be an intermittent problem with album art and image icons.

I'm getting some 404s for images, too. But the issue seems to be temporary, as I would often get those images upon second attempt. One example today was https://img.radioparadise.com/covers/l/B00008A7QK.jpg : it failed on first attempt, but loaded ok second time around.
Yeah I think the problem will be that it's a homemade database and correcting all the flubs from years gone by is probably on the to-do list, right at the bottom.
Right, but if your interface to the database* lets you do any ordering at all, this is probably easy ð¤ to add with a single line. I just didn't know that all my agitation for making the change needed supporting examples to convince the team that the sort order wasn't already by date.
Tangentially related: It's clear that dates are stored in more than one place. On the currently playing page, a bunch of songs used to have that "(null)" where the date would have been, probably a date stored with the song itself. After someone's bug report, the nulls and zeros have been stripped from the page, but those songs just don't show dates now. It's also a little funny to see some songs with a specific date and others with just a year. I imagine that you couldJOIN to the linked album to get its date and put that on the UI if the song doesn't have its own date. I haven't yet seen any albums that don't have dates. But joining makes the query more complicated on a high-traffic page.
The artist page doesn't have this complication for its album list. The date for each album is already there, so there's not much complexity added by sorting on it.

I am a way back listener to RP though it's become a frustration for a while now as for the past couple of years we have all our entertainment stream via Chromecast onto a high end Bluetooth speaker system (and digital projector). We have fully updated Chromecast and Windows 11 (wired Ethernet) and during the past 5 months a new internet carrier at a much higher speed. Playing RP from the web App, the site URL, or Android (v. 13) App through Chromecast results in a few songs playing and then the music goes into a very short music loop of noise. This happens at all bitrates. I'm guessing it's the compatibility with Chromecast since playing RP without using Chromecast - WIFI or Ethernet, Web or Android App all works properly and at Flac. Hope that description helps. ð
