The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is one of the programs that does not fare well in the Trump administration's budget proposal
Mulvaney justifies budget: We can't ask a coal miner to pay for the Corporation for Public BroadcastingAs they fleshed out the budget blueprint released Thursday morning by the White House, Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney said officials from the administration of President Donald Trump asked themselves: Can we ask the taxpayer to pay for this? For a dramatic uptick in military funding, Mulvaney said, the answer was yes. For a wide array of domestic programs, it turns out, the answer was no. Trump’s budget, which Mulvaney said was assembled in part by examining excerpts from the president’s speeches and media interviews, delivers on his campaign promise to build up the military, designating an additional $54 billion in defense spending. The budget pays for that additional spending by cutting funding to nearly every other department, including 21 percent budget cuts at the departments of Labor and Agriculture, 28 percent at the State Department and 31 percent at the Environmental Protection Agency. “When you start looking at places that we reduce spending, one of the questions we asked was can we really continue to ask a coal miner in West Virginia or a single mom in Detroit to pay for these programs? The answer was no,” Mulvaney said Thursday morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “We can ask them to pay for defense, and we will, but we can’t ask them to continue to pay for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.” Federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting would be cut entirely under Trump’s budget blueprint, which also reduces spending on the Coast Guard by 14 percent and FEMA by 11 percent...

Notice how we're not talking about the missing taxes from 2006,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15, or 16 now - and not wondering about his financial ties with Russia? Notice how we're not talking about the mental status of our current President confabulating some kind of "wiretapping" offense committed by a sitting President and accusing him publicly of it - in the face of literally NO evidence? Notice how we're not talking about the massive number of Americans that they'll leave uninsured with the "fix" of our healthcare system? Notice how we're not talking about excluding people from being in the US because they're not the national religion?Notice how we're not talking about thousands of people being laid off as we decimate the EPA so that we can return to the days of smog? Notice how we're not talking about the mental status of our current President perseverating on the popular vote from an election he's already won? Maddow played that one very poorly, but talking more about it is exactly what the GOP would hope for. Someone like Tucker Carlson will just do his sanctimonious "wait wait - I just want to know..." faux-curiousity until they turn the cameras off. His face is already frozen that way.

Reminds me of the time a reporter got ahold of Robert Bork's video rental list and published excerpts. Turns out he had really boring taste in movies. Or the Geraldo Rivera story about opening Al Capone's vault—which was empty. Hold the late edition!
