The T20s coming up are going to be interesting. If our batsmen stay in the current form and Corey Anderson smashes another couple of records we'll be sweet, bar the Mitch.
Mitch has really come into his own and that is a huge psychological edge for Australia. I chuckle when Americans talk about cricket like it is a genteel sport when hitting the batsman (in the right spot) is a way to get him dismissed. I think the Australians could use more depth though.

Went to the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the T20 'Big Bash League' with coworkers and their boys to watch the Melbourne Stars beat the Melbourne Renegades. Wonderfully tacky with flames shooting in the air for every 4 and fireworks for every 6 by the home team (apparently the Stars). Not to mention the cheerleaders dancing in front of lights to produce camera flares when projected on the big screen. I particularly liked the flashing lights in the bails when they go flying. It was good fun even if it isn't really cricket according to several friends. And it was over in less than 3 hours but it was still 1:30 AM before I got home. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves. I'm sure all you Americans will be proud to know that Col. Saunders loves cricket.

Yup. in fact I'm pretty sure there was an ineffable slightly exasperated yet quietly amused chuckle from the on high at my last effort.
Can't be sure, though. Bloody ineffabillity.
