That's an old sci-fi theme. 'A Boy and His Dog' is one version - starring Don Johnson (!!)

The coming of world war 3 will blast the few left back to the mid evil age. That’s one way to cut global warming and produce a zombie nation. 
So get your castles and moat plans in by 2025. Time is critical you preppers!

It looks like whoever took that picture startled her just as she was about to stir those potatoes with that fork.  The beaters on the electric mixer in the background look clean; I guess she didn't use it on those taters - at least not yet. Kind of a cramped counter space - booze, ginger ale?, a plant, and some milk up on the shelf - I guess the milk was for the mashed potatoes.  It's a cool picture - very different times, though probably within our lifetimes.  Imagine someone wearing a dress and apron like that while cooking a holiday dinner these days.

 

I remember those old fashioned corks we used on open pop bottles! Press the plunger to insert and release!
