You'll be happier, I think, if you send your negs and slides to a service to be scanned. This is one such place, I'm sure people here have other sources, but ugh! the amount of time it takes to DIY is exasperating. If you just want a quickie scan to share here or Facebook, you can get one of these little boxes (lots of different choices) that use your phone:

That mask is a lot more impressive than anything The Dig ever showed...
 

Thanks. I was looking for advice.

The helmet (this photo is of a reconstruction) was in a thousand, small, rusted pieces. Putting it back together was Herculean.

It was February, 1978. A college trip to the UK. The British Museum. I had gotten a Pentax K1000 SLR camera for Christmas. This was the fifth roll of film I’d shot. The Sutton Hoo helmet was the first shot on that roll. Watching The Dig the other evening made me think of it.

I think I need to get a photo scanner.

Probably threw too much caution to the wind, but what the heck was young and bullet proof.
Towards the end of my travels some really awful stuff started happening to young folks all along the Asian backpackers trail when
a particularly nasty Charles Manson type dude , Charles Sobhraj  started his murderous doings so thought it wise to head on home.



 

Great photos, and very interesting reading about Sobhraj and the cave rescues!
