Did not follow his writings on Syria closely but if he refused to demonize the Assad regime, then I agree. Demonizing Assad and pro-longing the civil war has resulted in all kinds of suffering. Not American or Turkish suffering. Syrian suffering.
Bashar Al-Assad didn't need demonizing by anyone. He's a stone-cold monster.
