Three well known mob actors got whacked by God this month. Tony, aka Paulie Walnuts enjoyed your onscreen presence.
Paulie had a great line that still sticks in my mind. He and another guy, I think it was Silvio, were ordered to drive to Boston. They were not happy about it and ran through a list of the city's failings. Paulie finally shakes his head and says, "F*ckin' Boston... It's Scranton, but with clams."
He was a very funny guy. He did hundreds of voice-overs. I never knew this bit of trivia: Inadvertently set in motion the Cary Grant line, "Judy, Judy, Judy . . . " during one of his nightclub acts. Legend has it that he was in the middle of a Grant impersonation when Judy Garland walked in. Apparently, this is how he addressed the star. Even though the line was never said in any of Grant's movies, Storch's impression inexplicably stuck and was often used by other impressionists.
I had no idea about Storch coming up with line, or that Larry was so prolific after "F Troop." That show deserved a longer run.
Loved the story in the NPR piece about how Storch tried to dissuade his WWII buddy, a radio operator named Bermie Schwartz, from trying to break into show biz. Bernie didn't listen and became...Tony Curtis.

Interesting comment (about him not being listed here).
I considered posting it, but it was several hours later and I thought to myself, is this just "that big" as to seem almost pointless to post it? I got distracted and obviously didn't post, but I did wonder if there are a few passings that are "above" posting...if that makes any sense?
Well it seems odd to not have Shinzo Abe mentioned here, so here we go. We live in interesting times.
