In two online studies (total N = 1215), respondents completed personality inventories and a survey of their Internet commenting styles. Overall, strong positive associations emerged among online commenting frequency, trolling enjoyment, and troll identity, pointing to a common construct underlying the measures. Both studies revealed similar patterns of relations between trolling and the Dark Tetrad of personality: trolling correlated positively with sadism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism, using both enjoyment ratings and identity scores. Of all personality measures, sadism showed the most robust associations with trolling and, importantly, the relationship was specific to trolling behavior. Enjoyment of other online activities, such as chatting and debating, was unrelated to sadism. Thus cyber-trolling appears to be an Internet manifestation of everyday sadism.

Let it run its course, don't engage but do not belittle either. I see pain and turmoil. Given the recent events if anything we should have learned that those in mental or emotional pain and suffering do not need belittling. This does not mean that we have to handle everyone with kid gloves, but obviously this person is going through something and there is no need to pile on.

Maybe if we all chip in to cover whatever it donates to RP Bill will see fit to bounce it once and for all.

sdwright wrote: And these "conventions" that we are supposed to adhere to... are they enumerated somewhere for those of us new to the club? I'm in utter amazement that this extranet would have the flexibility and features that it has if they were not intended for USE by the users. What am I missing? You hate me personally without knowing me from Adam so you feel compelled to hate everything I do and say? Now I know how Trump feels... people hate that man so much they can't even see actual FACTUAL stuff... it's fascinating. So is this social networking experiment. Thankfully I never landed on FaceBook in the much bigger pond... I have a feeling there are horrible people with horrible words and zero actual character who only talk about it... never BE about it. Maybe part of why our country is so fubar... everyone just wanting to bitch about everything, none of them ever lifting a finger to contribute in a real way. But in this case as I'm new to this, I will perceive your excessive criticism as feedback... for awhile anyway. And maybe your cage could use some rattling so you see things differently. Myopathy is tragic indeed.
I'm guessing that you meant something about being myopic at the end there. Myopathy is a muscle disease.

I saw how he was treated too... probably that avatar he decided to use riled folks up... but truly some kind of manual would be tremendous! It could cover the majority rules rules and numerous tips and tricks to not upsetting the apple cart for new users who don't have a clue the way the crowd would prefer that we express ourselves. I thought RP had like half a million members, why is it such a small group in here? Were the others chased away or did they just give up hoping to be a new individual in the pond?
You're going to compare your apparent inability to adhere to convention to Che Guevara? Huh. The way you're formatting your posts makes it difficult to respond. That's that. Whether this is intentionally so remains to be seen.

accusations of bullying, compulsion to use the word 'clique', put-upon revolutionary with delusions of alternating paranoia and grandeur, odd formatting/colored text, overly familiar with regulars, but refers to self as newbie, probably a few things I'm forgetting right now
If they're not the same person, there's a freaking manual for RP trolls.
