We've all been buttheads at some time or another. But we've all managed to stay roughly within the pretty broad lines. What irks me is that I'm sure he had Many people pm him with offers to help. This is one of the kindest and most caring groups of people (who have mostly not ever even met) I've ever encountered. We give money, we fix each other's cars, we offer questionable psychoanalysis and dangerous advice. Despite the claims of 'oneness' we're a pretty mixed bag of nuts and it mostly works out okay.  I'm sure he's hurting and I truly hope he gets some help or relief. But I don't want him hurting anyone here, and if that's all he's got to get attention then I won't miss him. No ill will, and I'd welcome him back anytime (with a reasonable probationary period).

I still don't get the need to be thrown out. If you hate it so much here and find everyone to be a leftists/hippie/socialist/elitist/listmonger/whatever, then why keep coming back. Not by my definition.   Not based on a full examination of his posting history, which, btw, dates back to Jan 2007. 

There's little point in discussing in detail what he was / why he's not a troll.  

To broadly brush him with the moniker of "troll" is dead wrong, IMO; dismisses entirely his personal POV; and does a disservice to the community in understanding poster motivation(s).

That said, several of his posts in the last while are/were utterly indefensible. 

I'd like you all to reconsider how and when you toss out the label 'troll'.  It's a very  broad brush and becomes utterly meaningless when used incorrectly - which is what has been done in this instance.

Instead of labeling gypsyman a troll, I'd like you to give consideration to the idea that what you witnessed in the past days was the online forum equivalent of 'suicide-by-cop'.
