As the article notes, the gator was trapped, killed and cut open. Mr. Meth's foot and hand were found inside. Apparently the animal attacked the man's body after he'd died. Who would drop off a tweaker in swamp? And why? I don't know if 450 pounds and 12 feet is big for a gator, but that's 450 pounds and 12 feet too much for me. Cannot stand beasts like that. I knew the gator was dissected, I was just speculating - based on the stories of salt water crocodiles in northern Australia that use Mandrax to relax their prey. I was guessing that Mr. Meth was dumped there after having the bad manners to die in someone's car/trailer/flop-house. They may have thought it would be easier to drop him out in the glades than to try to explain a dead guy to the cops. It is Florida after all.

Cannot stand beasts like that. well there's no way around the fact that it is a very large critter they don't get much longer 14-15 feet maybe and that's probably rare but they gain more girth and can get quite a bit heavier (esp males/bulls) if you're ever in south florida try and make a trip to shark valley (winter is the best time) rent a bike or take the tram on 15 mile loop through the glades about halfway there's a tower you can go up into and see some whopper dinosaurs in the pond/lake it's hard to judge just how big they are, but they're usually noticeably larger than most you'll see on the trail/loop

Was the alligator tweaking when it was found? Then again, it may have been a DEA gator

Red_Dragon wrote: Prodigal_SOB wrote: It's not the new site that's broken. This bug/feature has been around as long as I've been here and is obviously in code that is common to both sites. As rarely as it crops up I don't think I'd spend much time looking for it either. Bizarre. On the old site, I simply places the copied url between url brackets and it worked fine. It works fine in previews, the substitution is not made until the post is actually submitted. It's not just URLs either. You can't actually get two consecutive minus signs to appear anywhere in a post. It's fine with a space between them "- -", but put them together and it comes out "—"(this actually was two minus signs every time I previewed it). I've tried single quotes, double quotes, using character codes, and every other standard technique I know but to no avail. There is just no way to get minus sign minus sign to print anywhere on this site. It doesn't cause much of a problem with normal text and in fact is kind of a nice feature there, but it kills URLs. You just have to notice it and create an alias for the URL.
