I fly out Thursday morning... which is why having the boss mis-schedule his vacation to overlap with mine, and the other person in the office get called for jury duty was such a disaster. Our press day is Thursday morning and One of us HAS to be there and I was holding the short straw.

Well the thing that had the most potential to totally fubar the rest of my hopes and dreams has been avoided. They made her drive 4 hours each way, stay in a motel but she got dismissed from the jury so can handle the press situation...
Don't care about the truck right now; will sleep better tonight. Back to planning what to eat this weekend...

No vacation for a long time
Had to clear this year's vacation schedule with boss, coworker, airlines, the City of Chicago, the airlines again after they rescheduled me into a horrible itinerary
Flying out at 6 a.m. from the airport 2 hours north of here; Xeric will give me a ride to the airport so that doesn't suck but for him it does
Pre-vacation chores include getting everything nailed down so substitutes can fill in
Normal substitute got a full time job
Press crew person fell and hit her head at home; no replacement for her means we're down two people on press days so
Boss will need to be pressed into service
Boss's wife scheduled a semi-surprise trip for two to Hawaii; they return Thursday... we will probably cross paths at the airport, he'll want to go home, not come to work all day.
Co-worker who handles the office just got called for jury duty;
judge has denied her hardship request even though the boss emailed the judge from Hawaii to say that there was literally no one available to do the work.
I'm sure there's more coming. Edit: Truck died on the drive home.
